My knee (left) did bend backwards once. About one in the morning while giving a heavy friend a piggy-back down the road. It took about six months to heal and still feels odd ten years later in cold weather - lack of cartilage behind the knee cap apparently. :o)
My FS is also not doing what I had hoped, but at least I had a nice comment from tanguera, and a fave (from someone else) so that makes it better.
Increasingly I am coming to the conclusion that I know a reasonable amount about how to take a technically competent photo, but not much about taking an artistically pleasing photo. So that is the next thing I intend to work on - which of course means being prepared for my DPC scores to dive even further! |

My husband's knees bend backwards. I can always pick him out in a crowd just by looking how they're standing.

It's just a phase. It happens all the time.
My drive has increased, but everything I'm considering seems dull and not good enough. I need to go find some birds.

Heinz? Or Homemade?
I made some tomato soup for the first time earlier this year. I really should have read a recipe first - it was very tasty but I think I did it the hard way. Sieving tomato pulp for the juice without pips is hard work!
Maybe it was more of a consommé? (sp?) |

Naw -- it was just Campbells from a can. My favorite thing as a kid. For a wedding present my brother gave me a case of it. (of course it was in tribute to my cooking skills. But it did come in handy the first year we were married. :)

I carry the camera every day, and even go through the ritual of swapping the battery with the one in the charger and powering up before leaving the house (just to make sure everything works), but I haven't taken a single shot since Sunday. I'm at a coffee shop downtown with the camera and might take some shots on the walk home. I bumped into someone here that's into photography and have been chatting a bit about it. Though, I suspect part of my slowdown is due to a little burnout from shooting a lot and from having 500+ unsorted shots to go through. I don't want to create too large a pile of images or I'll never catch up.
I'm anxiously waiting for delivery of my first prints from DPCPrints due tomorrow. |

Didn't want to start a thread on this but felt like sharing so I figure here is a good place.
Several months ago I went to a pre-launch event for a new marketing business and of course I had my camera so I took lots of shots. Well I was contacted this week and they want to use some of the shots at the official launch conference of the business. So I get a decent chunk of change that I wasn't expecting. Yay. |

Anyone want to give feedback on two entries for tonight's challenge? It's actually two very similar shots, I'm just a little confused on it...

well i just noticed this thread .. i wasnt in the dpl one so i'm not missing it but i love the idea of just writing wotever and getting a response .. I LOVE DPC ... !!
so .. i'm entering a canon competition and my gorgeous niece very kindly donned a very old wedding dress that i'd bought a couple of years ago from st. vinnies .. that's a shop we have in oz where ppl have donated their clothing and all sorts of other stuff like furniture and ornaments and shoes and etc .. we went out and took pics for the brief which was confetti/movment but it was so windy that the confetti i'd bought, 10 packets of it, just blew away in an instant .. i'd thought it was overkill buying so much but we had to pick it up off the grass so we could use it again seeing i'd used all the 10 packets ..
anyway .. sorry to go on but i have a raging headache .. had it for two days .. i took some nurofen plus 15 minutes ago and i'm hoping to be feeling a lot better soon ..
if anyone reads all that i'll give you an award .. !!
ps .. i really liked your question about the sponge tool wendy and robert's and paul's replies coz i've never used the different chanels .. great to learn new stuff .. I LOVE DPC .. !!!

cool effect!!
Argh, don't ask me about titles! I suck at titles. I'm sitting here for the last 20 minutes trying to come up with something cute and pithy for the title for tonight's challenge, and it's not working.
Life would be perfect if we never had to title another photo. :)

That is correct. When this started I took a vacation from DPC. BUT if you saw I was very excited about the possibilities.
