I want to buy stuff for my family but I hate the super high shipping rates that are international going from US to Canada...and Amazon.ca doesn't have a whole lot and I can't seem to find a good online store with products I'm looking for: Basically, I want to be able to get some kitchen ware that some family members might not otherwise buy for themselves, some gadgets and fun stuff. I'm also looking for a kids piano (For a kid that is going to be 1 in a couple months) just so she can bang on it and make noise for mom and dad. Some game type stuff too...CSN stores is good but at check out the shipping is just way too much...any help? Canadians?? |

Kitchen Stuff Plus has lots of Kitchen accessories. You can order from their site, and they are based in Canada. |

I understand!!! I hate ordering from the US too but that's where all the cool stuff is it seems.
I like Lee Valley for cool gadgets and different things. Other than Amazon & Chapters/Indigo I don't order much from Canadian companies because like you said, there's just not a lot of options out there.
Lee Valley
Hampstead House Books...........good for discounted books, stuff you might not find at Chapters. |

Have you tried the online catologue at www.sears.ca. If you search on toy piano, it comes back with about 6 items. They have free shipping to anywhere in Canada. |

I have no idea as to where in Canada your relatives live, but I happen to purchase oodles of items in the USA and havew them shipped to the UPS Store in Ogdensburg, NY. A lot of camera places ship for free within the USA and charge no state tax. I pay a $5.00USD handling fee to the UPS Store, and the HST when I cross the border...and voila done.
You most definitely do NOT want to have them shipped from the USA to Canada as you will incur brokerage fees which can be shocking.
I do hope this helps a bit,

You could also simplify the process a great deal by simply sending money...that way you are certain they will get what they truly want.
