I will keep living by American values; in the assumption of innocence, of the inherent worth of all people, and count on the ideals that have brought us to this point to carry us through these difficult times.

That works for me. They can all go back to their sandbox and hate us from 8,000 miles away. I would be glad to leave them alone as long as they leave us alone.

As for the last statement of "American Values" - thats the Jimmy Carter version - human rights for the world so it can piss on us. No thanks.

I just have one question, have you ever taken a vacation outside of your own little world of Long Island? Maybe two questions. What is your preferred reading, NY Times, KKK Times, etc.?

Yes indeed...and if the natives had rallied around the troops way back when, we would all be celebrating Thanksgiving in some other countries.

I'm really not sure why it should matter to this discussion, but I'm pretty well traveled. I've been to about 40 of the states and another 15 or so countries.

And I don't read either of those.

Just think... if everyone reciprocates, everyone will get to stay home.

Americans dont travel to other countries and try to bomb airplanes out of the sky or blow themselves up on commuter trains.

As for not being able to travel to Saudi Arabia - oh well.

Photodude It is at times like this that I truly wish that people would familiarize themselves with and follow the wise words of Mahatma Gandhi when he said: "You must be the change you wish to see in the world."

Sadly, I do earnestly believe that this would be lost on you.

Damn. I was sure I was about to be Rick Rolled when I clicked on that link.

I think the point is, people have been pushed too far, and they are lashing back. I think we're beginning to resemble a fascist state a little too strongly for my tastes, and for a lot of peoples' tastes. I don't believe that all things are justified in the name of 'security". I think I need protecting from my own government more than i do from terrorists, frankly. R.

Here is a little reminder of being pushed too far for all of you with short memories...

I get so tired of seeing this old racist/supremacist
BS being pulled out when we talk of profiling with respect to people entering our country. For non-citizens, entering our country is a privilege. That's the way it works when US citizens travel to other countries. Please tell me why it should be any different here?

Yes, and if little frogs had wings they wouldn't to bump their little asses on the ground.

I'm guessing if you read a New York paper, its the Post, and if you watch TV news it would be Fox's "fair and balanced" reportage?

Next time I fly, I'm going to strap a nice big cucumber to my leg, opt for the groping and then moan in mock ecstasy as soon as the TSA fondler touches it.

If you want to freak out the security people...take out your DSLR camera with 300mm Zoom *Red Alert*

That'll get you arrested on the spot. They are a humorless bunch, those fondlers.

You've never seen "This is Spinal Tap" have you?

Of COURSE I have :-) I'm an aging hippie, brother... "Spinal Tap" essentially invented the genre "Mockumentary", and I'm just a junkie for those. Anything by Christopher Guest is worth watching. Especially "Best in Show" ΓΆ€” hysterical!

And yes, I catch the reference :-)

Really? How do I get from the US back to Australia?? Long distance boats do not exist now..... or you saying my kids should not be able to visit their grandparents because I chose to live in the US because institutional molestation was a requirement to get on a plane?

It's this attitude... my way or the highway.... for or against... that is the saddest part of this (yeah you will not see it I know).... There is ZERO need for the terrorists to bomb things.... It's far more effective to throw a few "failed" attempts out because we institutionalize more restrictions then they could manage... Think about it.... what does a "failed" attempt really mean recently... There is no failure in anything I see from the terrorist side.

So, your ok I assume with your kids been felt up by someone in uniform? So why the outrage against child porn (which no doubt the same crowd is against)?? Or does it have to be a frock to be ok??

I would suggest moaning while they do the pat down but no doubt there is a fine and gaol time for something so rude to an official molester... Maybe it will get them off faster :-) Maybe they can start handing of free fags (using the English term for cigs deliberately :-) ) after the security points....

If you truly are stuck, you could visit us in Canada and fly from here...the rules are a tad different.

Nah, Americans just use their superior airpower and blow up other countries with "precision" bomb strikes. Or mow down journalists in the streets with attack helicopters.

And of course, you'll gladly give up your fossil fuel powered automobile and of course buses, trains and, most importantly, airplanes. Which will render this whole discussion moot. You can blog about it while commuting on your ox cart.
