You switched your photo out Steve, but was it a new shot taken after last nights original deadline? That's what I need to know as well. I did some new shots of the original subject after midnight and I need to know if using those new shots is allowed due to the extension.
If anyone from the SC reads this could you please clarify my question/concern and the other posters here. |

not sure but this is what it reads:
Challenge Details: Whether it be coloration / processing, automobiles, wine, clothing or some other interpretation, offer an image that communicates "Vintage".
Challenge Type: Member Challenge Member Challenge
Challenge Rules: Advanced Editing
Submission Deadline: Monday, November 22nd, 2010 (began Nov. 16th 2010)
Voting Dates: Nov. 23rd 2010 - Nov. 29th 2010 |

Advanced Editing rules state "(submission must be)...taken after the challenge is announced and before the deadline...", so shots from Monday should be OK. I don't see anything to the contrary, and as SC is fond of pointing out, rules is rules... ;-p

I captured an image on Sunday, November 21. I processed that image and submitted it to the Vintage challenge in the afternoon before the site went down on Sunday night. Looking at the image in the early morning hours of Monday, I saw room for improvement. So, I submitted a substitute re-processed image on Monday, November 22. I've been fooled before, but I think it's all good. |

Finally got my image in tonight after work. Now I get to take a beating with the rest of you.

Thanks for the replies everyone. My main concern wasn't whether or not we could pull and existing submission and take advantage of the extra day to fine tune editing etc. I feel that's probably just fine to do. My concern was retaking the shot after the original deadline (even though I already had one I tried to submit but the new one is better) and than having someone say the unexpected such as "the deadline extension was just for the submission and the photo still had to be taken within the original time frame".
Either way I'm submitting my new photo. I've asked about this in a couple of threads and even sent an email to the SC to please post a response to alleviate any concerns of others as well. Still haven't heard back from them which is another problem in itself. |

My take on it is this:
If the new shot is better than mine, then you can't enter a shot after the original deadline.
If it's worse than mine, then definitely you can enter a shot as long as it falls within the new deadline.
:D

My replacement was another shot taken at the same time as the first one. Looking at the description says Nov 22 as the submission deadline, so I would guess that grants an additional shooting day.

LMAO, well seriously Wendy...how often have my shots been better than yours? Not often...if ever. LOL. I think you can sleep sound on that one. :) |

I believe it does as well. Thanks for replying. I'm just going to have to have faith that the extended deadline also gave another day of shooting.

I guess that means there is one day less for voting - and the beating I'm expecting with my entry, this wouldn't be a bad thing.

I think last time you still had a full week, and that it ended on Monday instead of Sunday, but that the new challenges were still listed on Sunday at midnight.
