Are we expected to reenter all images, since joining, to make up for the missing links? Does this allow for some discount for members as we will be doing some of the work? What if I can not remember a title of an image? Do we re enter at 640 max pixels or can we do it at 800 pixels? This is beginning to sound like American politics!

I sure wish someone could make a decision as to whether the entry deadline will be extended or not. I'm falling asleep at my desk. :-(

I've decided.. It will not be extended, so, now you must continue to fight sleep at your keyboard... I suggest coffee.. :)

:-) Coffee would work; heck, I could just go ahead and head on in to work in a few hours then and skip sleep altogether.

Always good to give the impression that you really enjoyed the weekend to it's fullest potential..

A little minor concern is actually getting to work in one piece! Crazy nutzo roads with a gazillion drivers to mingle with on the way in. Need to be awake (hmmm...I'm looking for that coffee IV gadget I had around here somewhere).

I'd guess that we won't need to worry about such things... I'll bet Langdon gets it all back online sometime soon enough...

The photo I entered on Dec 9, 2005 has finally delivered its payload and overloaded the server. Job done ... Viva la blank pages.

LOL!

I clicked on my entry to see what it looked like, and there's this on the page:

"Important: Your entry appears to be significantly smaller in size than what is allowed. Since
smaller-sized entries tend to receive lower votes, we encourage you to upload a
different image that uses the maximum size allowed. You can visit our tutorial
on Using Photoshop to Prepare Photos for DPC Challenges for more information."

I guess it thinks the placeholder GIF is the entry?

Heh! I entered before I left this evening for a bike ride, in the dark, and now when I go to the challenge page to see if my entry is there, I get this:

"Your entry appears to be significantly smaller in size than what is allowed. Since
smaller-sized entries tend to receive lower votes, we encourage you to upload a
different image that uses the maximum size allowed. You can visit our tutorial
on Using Photoshop to Prepare Photos for DPC Challenges for more information."

This makes me wonder if when the site DOES come back up, do we all have to re-enter??

3 more minutes and I can go to sleep.

Actually, I can now -- but I'm going to see it through to the bitter end! :)

it's like a runaway train

Strange thing to see the winners without any image

Umm, wow. Apparently the new challenge is Orange 3, but we just barely did an orange challenge in March of this year.
I wonder if that is a mistake too?
Looks like Vintage "rolled over", but maybe the site is still not under control, so that might still be reversed

No reentry just take it to the Florida supreme court!

what is maddening is that SC is not giving us any information. I worked all day on an image that didn't get into the challenge tonight. I also never finished voting on the challenge that, apparently, just finished.
11/22/2010 12:04:01 AM · #96
late voters/vote modifiers were denied last licks
11/22/2010 12:04:47 AM · #97
I'm betting Langdon doesn't even know there is an issue with the image server yet. Probably running on autopilot and until someone messages him from SC that nothing happens. Voting and commenting now would be funny. Your image looks the same as every other entry. Where is your originality?
11/22/2010 12:05:42 AM · #98
maybe we should email him our entries?

Yep...you would think that someone on SC could get some feedback from Langdon to let us know what's up.

Rather interesting to have a photography site without, um, pictures...

On a positive note, I made top 10 with my off-center :-)

If only you could see it...
