Seeing as its an election year in the US, could we have an incoherent political rambling forum that most people who don't care, can block, please ? Otherwise its heading for taking over

Wouldn't this be more appropriate under "Web Site Suggestions"?

It's in rant - couldn't let it go without finding something to argue with.... ;)

That's your right wing agenda showing

It sounds sort of appropriate that the words Rant and Politics are used in the same sentence.

I think that's a good idea Gordon. Otherwise we'll loose the use of the rant forum for the duration.

Every television I've seen still comes with an "OFF" button.

I'd like to see this as well. And have it stay after the elections as there are apparently some people here who are more interested in pushing their political agendas than they are in photography.

Isn't this it?

I suppose we can lock all new threads and cross-link them to this one ... is that what you mean?

Sounds like a conspiracy to me :)

From this interview of Republican Senator John McCain by Bill Moyers.

SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN: ...The administration gave me their word that they would appoint her as a recess appointment because they had done that with the other Republican.

And they waited until after the regulations were issued before giving her a recess appointment despite the fact that in writing I had gotten their word that she would be recess appointed in October.

BILL MOYERS: If you can't trust them, why can we?

SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN: I don't...I can't answer that, except to say that in 20 years around this town I've never had my word...I've never had people break their word to me in this fashion.

Reasons for paranoia, if you're just patient enough to read the whole thing.

Too bad only people who watch PBS know about it.

Could you pick an artical from a website that leans further to the left please...

you guys and your "left vs right" crap. its allmost like if you think an article or information is one or the other, depending on your personal side preference, you will simply disavoy any information not agreeing with your side.

that sucks. besides, in a money controlled world in a money controlled government, dosnt it make more sense to find more truth from a source that is not fully controlled by those with all the money?

dunno, maybe thats just me.

Excellent article, General! So much to chew on.

Russell...is your world so black and white that there is no "grey" in between? Makes for a very limited and boring picture, I would say.

Actually, I don't know, I've never visited that site. My uncle sent me the article, and I thought it better to post the link rather than the whole thing.

Many of our Founding Fathers were farmers and trademen of limited education, and they did all right figuring out how government worked. To ridicule someone who can actually make something you can use, or grow something you can eat, at the expense of people whose sole skill is the accumulation of wealth sounds short-sighted, unless you also long for a return to a feudal state, where the peasants will grow your wheat or else ... except WE will all be the peasants.

Interestingly enough, that site is owned by Bev Conover. She's a VERY left leaning gal who is quoted often on the Democratic Underground and I think from some posts on mysticwicks.com that she may use the name Mystique there.

edited due to a misunderstanding on my part!
