A friend found this old pic of her grandmother and asked me if I thought it could be restored. I tried but had a problem with the mouth. Anyone think they can make it look half way decent? Feel free to have a go at it!!!

I'll give it a go and I'll start with her mouth.
Don't forget to download the full size version folks.

Did the best I could with a laptop track pad haha. They drilled us with photo retouching and clone stamping in high school so I have quite a bit of experience with it lol. I only did the main problem work, I left the corners alone etc.
accidentally saved with a layer off, fixed now.

I got rid of the frame and cropped out the bottom. I left the sepia tone but upped the brightness and contrast a bit.
It needs more work but that's all the time I have for it Terry. :)

Sorry I don't have the skills to do this myself, but I feel like both tries so far have made her too toothy. |

I downloaded it, but am working on a Photoshoot from this afternoon. As soon as I get a chance I'll give a go at it.

I agree, you both did a great job, but the teeth stand out a bit too much. I think even just toning down the brightness in both would make a big difference. |

Arm-chair re-touchers should watch football instead. ;)
You're welcome Terry.

tada!
People who are making these comments have a pre-conceived idea of how perfect teeth should look like and are forcing their views onto this image. They're not seeing the photograph as it is. I followed her lip line as best I could and actually drew a sketch of it using the pen tool.

No she doesn't, just click on full view for a bigger version. Can't wait to see her teeth. You may want this as a reference. ;) |
