They are another photo site. They have "screeners" and submissions are reviewed then either posted or not depending on the consensus. They have forums and such too. They have galleries where you can show off your work, if you are a paid member. They have some really, really good photography on that site. Well worth a look.

Congrats Robert!
My latest rejections, none of which made it to member screening.

And if people were right about 10 tries and you're out -- that was my last try.
Didn't make it to member screening.

Don't be discouraged. Your PH entry is a risky submission, even to 1x. Its appeal isn't polytropic enough to speak to the people unaccustomed to its sense. Both screeners and voters, I think I've found, expect to see at least one or two facets of an image they can immediately identify and appreciate. When this isn't the case, the vote usually swing towards "safe" ground.
I don't know about you, but it hasn't stopped me from submitting. :)

Question for the other 1xers here.
I had a recent rejection. The comments offered a couple of tips that I can apply in the editing.
Has anyone ever had an entry rejected, then re-edited and re-submitted, and then accepted?
I tried it a couple of times and the re-edit gets rejected, too.
Just wondering. |

Yeah, I've tried. The only thing my re-edits succeeded in doing was stirring up commentary about how the edits could be improved.
My Disney Hall image was rejected, twice. A lot of folks had issues with the deep blue color on the right. The second time was a square crop version which left out the dark blue, and the critiques shifted to the oblique angle of the building. I can't seem to get traction over there. |

I had a submission rejected. Then, I posted the image in the critique section, and the rejection was later accepted for which I was deeply grateful and hugely surprised!
I know of one other photographer who made changes to his rejected image and the image was accepted after the change.
Good Luck to you! |

Did you resubmit it, or did it just happen? And for that matter, did you re-edit it before resubmitting, if you DID resubmit?

Oh...in my case, I didn't resubmit and just a reversal of fortune occurred...::BEAMS::
In the case of the other photographer, he made changes and then resubmitted which resulted in acceptance.

This weeks rejects.
Love this image, I get lost in it's tranquility. Very soothing.
Enjoyable, but in some respects forgettable. Although I like the rhythm of the water. |

This one was good for a ribbon in the Posthumous challenge, and it was huing in the Posthumous Art Gallery, but it didn't make the cut at 1x, sigh...
