After seeing the 80's lyrics quiz a couple months back and some of the comments, I was inspired to do a similar one for the 60's. It's not as fancy a web site as the 80's one was, but at least you don't get dinged for spelling errors.

Enjoy!

And if anyone gets them ALL right, they are crowned High Emperor Mucky-Muck of the music universe (or you cheated).

Ya know what they say about the 60's right?

[for those who don't]
If you can remember the 60's, you didn't live them!:)

I don't remember them.

Mind you, I wasn't born either.

Does that mean I lived them then ?

Some of these can use a pronoun of either gender, depending on whose cover you heard ....

Do we get any bonus for knowing the author (not artist)?

The odd thing is that most of what a lot of people remember as "The Sixties" occurred between about 1964-74.

Drg, did you actually create that all yourself? If so, good job, looks like a lot of work. I only could answer a few of them however. :( Guess I wasn't old enough then nor listened much to Sixties songs when I was older I guess.

Yes, I did do most of this myself from memory. Where I could not be sure, I either left it out or got confirmation from my wife. My record research books (Joel Whitburn) are all packed awaiting our move so I wasn't sure on dates of all the songs.

I know that there are several songs that have had versions done by both male and female artists, but I don't believe an of my examples can be interpreted both ways and still remain 60's songs.

If you know who wrote each song, you're doing better than me. I know lots of them, but not all.

I really enjoyed working on this and hope you all get a kick out of it. May they bring back fond memories.

On my first pass-through I got 37, plus 3-1/2 of the bonus questions, and I know who wrote about half of those.

I did about the same, but what a lot of memories! Thanks
