Whew, I was hoping I'd get a close race during this side challenge. Good luck!

still very close. I'm at +1.2075

Its almost unfair that one of you has to be eliminated. Well done, both of you.

I tend to agree. Given the next round would be a three and two pairs leading to a final round of a three; perhaps if these are the two highest finishers we should consider putting them both through and making an 8 - 4 - 2 - winner pattern.

Or does that smack too much of making the rules up as we go along??

Trying to think about this in an unbiased way, but I think it sounds like a good idea. I was wondering how you were planning on doing it with an odd number of people, and I think that this solution would keep it neater overall, if it actually comes to that.

I would support this ammendment.

I'm certainly all for that! :) But of course, I'm also supportive of what everyone else wants to do and thinks is fair. It's been a fun week either way. The past weeks were fun as well, but to be doing so much better than my average and be able to compete at such a high score has been a lot of fun. Thanks for organizing the SC Paul.

I'm running slightly above my average.

I haven't noted any objections to my proposal that the next round should have 8 players, so it's likely I'll facilitate that if things shape out as anticipated.

Put in a s-curve just in case

VitaminB, I hope you have your S-Curve in! I've just gone down, down, down all week. Now at barely 4.5.

I think I might be winning Lucky 7, but I have nothing for S-Curve. This might be my last huzzah.

I do have an S-Curve in... submitted on Wednesday, and I am really pleased with the shot (and hope voters are too). My 7's shot has held strong at 6.3.

That would be pretty cool. My score has dropped a fair amount the past day or 2, but I think I should still be in top 10. Time will tell. I'm working on a S-curve entry, but I don't think I'll be able to come up with anything phenomenal. Just came up blank on this one.

Not sure if I technically made it to the next round or not, but either way, I wasn't able to get an entry in to the S-curve challenge. My computer locked up and it ended up taking me two hours to get it on the computer and edited. So good luck to everyone who made it through!

Only just getting up now. I'll process the results as soon as I can.

Starting off well in S-curves. 1.38 above, after 14 votes. I almost swapped it out this evening, now I'm glad I left this one in.

OK - I had planned to put both Trumpeteer4 and dahlin through (as a rematch) because of their high scores, giving us a knockout-friendly 8 participants. That might yet be the best solution, but given that I believe Trumpeteer4 was unable to submit, can I just check who has submitted for S-Curve; that might give me pause for thought for this round.

I am in for S-Curve - how about you?

I'm in, but evidently it wasn't worth entering. :)

Didn't enter this week. I was so busy, there was no way I had the wherewithall or the time to shoot. It's a shame, since I have enjoyed this a lot.

Is there any sub-rule for re-upping if a player leaves after winning? That way I could get back on the horse this coming challenge.

I'd be up for that but you aren't the only non-submitter so I'm going to stick with the original rules now. Results and new matches to follow.

Thanks

Round 3 Results:

Winners' scores are in bold:

Idealodds +0.0477
keenon +0.5426

VitaminB +0.2355
Kelli -0.4202

Trumpeteer4 +1.0812
dahlin +1.2419

ace flyman -0.2885
paulbtlw -0.0248

cynthiann DS
kleski -0.0578

Yo_Spiff +0.2987
davidw -0.3407

rodfulk +0.5165
LydiaToo -0.5529

A spreadsheet of the full results can be found here:

Special mentions go to:

dahlin for beating his average by the greatest margin.

Trumpeteer4 for placing highest of the players.

The fourth round matches are between:

keenon
VitaminB
dahlin

paulbtlw
kleski

Yo_Spiff
rodfulk

There had to be a three-way somewhere and since we know that keenon hasn't submitted, this would seem to be the logical split.

(I have replicated this match information in the OP)

These matches are currently being contested over S Curve. The winners will face each other in a three-way final over Skyscapes.

Good luck and thanks for your continuing participation.

Paul I am looking at -.07 right now. Not at all what I expected to see after the 6+ last night!
