just to give you some idea of the point of IS and the fun that can be had - this was taken handheld at 1/40 sec in poor lighting on a 400mm lens

| I bought that same lens a few months back. It's done well for me, and brought me an nice handful of 6+ entries, including one HM. An awful lot of bang for the buck with that lens. |
