Eliminating ALL weather station data would still result in the same conclusion.

No it wouldn't. Thousands of inputs taken at the wrong places would affect the results greatly. Everybody know dat.

Eliminating all weather station data means ZERO inputs. The consensus of well over 90% of the people who actually study climate that there's an unusual warming trend influenced by man does not rest solely upon weather station data. In 2010, the fact of climate change is no longer in dispute outside of crackpots, vested interests and the hopelessly ignorant.

Eliminating all weather station data would not result in the same conclusion (that there is no statistical warming). If we eliminated all the weather station data, there would be statistical cooling. Why would you believe other sources of weather data are immune to corruption. I question NASA. Have you noticed that all funding to NASA has been cut EXCEPT for studying climate. If they concluded there is no warming, they would lose that funding as well. Either they show warming or they are gone, hardly a basis for trust in scientific outcome.

The final nail in the coffin of AGW. NASA is in on it. They are not independent. Check this out.

More on the future role of NASA as official government proponent of Global Warming. Everyone here will have to produce research that supports Global Warming. Their job depends on it.

...Actually one conducts research, gathers data and interprets findings.

It is a quantum leap to suggest that their jobs are wholly dependant on findings or providing data that supports global warming, particularly when one considers that studies of this nature tend to last for generations.

As a final note, I do believe that people today are looking at "Climate Change" as opposed to "Global Warming".

The former chief engineer for a state coal mining agency is your authority on climate? LOL! It is written by a buffoon. "Monte Hieb is the author of several popular web pages skeptical of Anthropogenic Global Warming, serving as a evangelist for the viewpoint (he does not state his qualification in climatology or a related science). He is an employee at the West Virginia Office of Minerâs Health, Safety, and Training." Being "a scientist" does not qualify you as an authority in every scientific field any more than holding "a doctorate" makes one equally qualified to comment on tort law and neurosurgery.

The news is from NOAA, not the journalist, and you'll find the same story reported in Time, Sky News, Christian Science Monitor, Reuters, The Guardian, Associated Press, MSNBC, National Post, Discovery News, , Investor's Business Daily, USA Today, Examiner, etc.

You obviously didn't read the link you posted. The CNN Weatherman gave his thoughts on arctic ice conditions. He didn't assign this to other sources. Plus the fact that any number of news sources repeat the same propaganda doesn't impress me all that much. You're just becoming one of the "denier shouters" that hangs out around here. :) No where near as much fun to argue with as Doc. Achoo. :)

The only thing the meteorologist said was that sea ice reflects sunlight and where there's no ice we can expect the ocean to absorb more heat (duh). Do you really need a source to validate such a simple concept? That this June was the warmest on record is hardly propaganda.

Jakobshavn Glacier Retreat
Originally posted by Cited Article:

The glacier drains a large portion of Greenlandâs ice sheet, and consequently, the glacier has the potential to contribute more to sea level rise than any other single feature in the Northern Hemisphere. On July 6â7, 2010, the glacier retreated by roughly 1 mile (1.5 kilometers)...

In 2001, Jakobshavn was already the fastest glacier in the world, flowing from land to sea at 7 kilometers per year. By July 2010, it had accelerated to roughly 15 kilometers per year, and the leading edge had retreated nearly 10 kilometers (6 miles).

Biochar stoves

Regardless of the actual manmade impact to Global Warming, items like this make sense to me. Waste is used for fuel which in turn is used for soil replenishment.

Is there a downside? Could this be used in commercial applications?

GM helping out.

DETROIT â Oil-soaked booms from the Gulf of Mexico are providing more than enough recycled material to make a production yearâs worth of air-deflecting baffles for the Chevrolet Volt electric car with extended range, a positive outcome of the worst offshore oil spill in U.S. history.

âGM decided to offer assistance by collecting boom material from the Gulf coast until there was no longer a need,â said John Bradburn, GMâs manager of waste-reduction efforts. âWeâre in the process of identifying other areas where the material we have left can be used â potentially in our plants â now that we have a sufficient quantity for the Volt.â

Using the recycled booms, whose oil and water was refined or used for energy, allowed GM and its supplier partners to:

■Reuse 227 miles of the absorbent boom material
■Save 29,000 gallons of water and oil from the nationâs landfills
■Eliminate 212,500 pounds of waste from being thrown out
■Eliminate 149 tons of CO2-equivalent emissions from entering the air
The air deflectors comprise 25 percent boom material, 25 percent recycled tires from GMâs Milford Proving Ground vehicle test facility and 25 percent packaging plastic from GMâs Fort Wayne Assembly plant. The remaining 25 percent is a mixture of post-consumer recycled plastics and other polymers.

GMâs team of partners, including Heritage Environmental, Mobile Fluid Recovery, and GDC, Inc., worked together on the process to recycle the booms into car parts.

Before GM began the project, the only options for the contaminated boom material were disposing of it in a landfill or burning it for energy. While energy conversion was preferable to waiting hundreds of years for the material to decompose, both options end the life of a material that, if recycled, could live indefinitely.

âWe applaud GM for moving beyond traditional corporate responsibility efforts and finding a way to turn a portion of the waste from one of the worst environmental challenges in our nationâs history into something valuable,â said Corey Lambrecht, president of Earth911, Inc., host of the nationâs largest recycling directory. âWe need more, creative cleanup and recycling efforts like these.â

In 2010, GM facilities worldwide recycled 92 percent of the waste they generated. It uses recycled and bio-based materials such as plastic bottles, blue jeans, cardboard, carpet, tires, kenaf fibers, balsa wood and soy in its vehicles.

âWe use recycled and bio-based materials whenever possible,â Bradburn said. âFortunately, we were able to leverage what we know to aid in the Gulf cleanup efforts, produce a high-quality part for a brand-new vehicle and keep the boom material in its use phase all in a cost-neutral way.â

Re post by Flash ; July 011 Volt Sales

125 "Volts" sold in July. That should make a dent in this climate change thing. I do give GM a thumbs up for smart use of the clean-up leftovers. I sort of suspect that it may have been more of a PR thing than a true commitment to going green.

1973 Nobel winner (Physics) Ivar Giaever resigns from APS.

This 2009 supporter of Obama has issues with the claim that global warming is "incontrovertably" man made. The .8 degree Kelvin change in the last 150 years is to him - evidence of a remarkably stable temperature.
