Hello Good People!

Coming into a few bucks & I am excited about purchasing some lense for my cam. I would like a telefoto lense & maybe a macro one as well. Any thoughts & or suggestions for reasonable priced good lenses for my cam would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

5050 has built in 1.5 inch distance macro lens, and you can't change that, you have to break the camera!
Only telephoto you can use is 1.4 X Olympus converter which is not cheap and that will give you 4.2X zoom...

The types of pictures I like taking a wide angle would be more useful. You may check into that.

Filters- NeutralDensity or Polarizers for those beautiful skies.

i have a wide angle lens already. when I bopught my cam they were supposed to send me a telefoto lens but they sent me a wide angle instead. By the time I realised this it was too late to do anything about it.

I have an adapter for my cam. Does this help in getting other lenses? I would really like a more optical zoom for my camera. Is this impossible?

I have the telephoto lens and I'm not happy with it at all. It is a very weak lens. I never use it. Oh and by the way.....I just bought the Canon EOS-300D Rebel! (:

man that sucks! I would get another camera if Icould afford one but I really love my oly.
Olympian, you're a lucky dog!

So canons aer defintely the choice amongst dpcers. Do they have more variety when it comes to lenses?

My dad has the 5050z and he just bought the 750 as well and he likes the 750 much better.. it has 10x optical zoom.

Pits,

where did you sell your 5050 & how much did it go for? I wish I knew more about cameras before I bought my cam now

You think I should change my user name?
Yeah, Lucky and frustrated! I got tired of not being able to focus without taking 75 photos to get it right. Anything closeup is a crap shoot with auto and good luck manually focusing using the LCD. Everything looks like its in focus.

Both cams are so noisy,200 ISO is just unusable...
Viefinder on 5050 is way out of line covers something like 70 % wide and 25-50% tele,AF very slow and inacurate, just a big headache cam!

I sold mine to a friend for 300$

OMG! That is so true about the LCD. Things ALWAYS look focused when they are crazy NOT in focus! I thought it was me! Now I feel really wretched!

I worked overtime for the last couple of months to pay for mine. I figured the weather was miserable anyway, so why not just work and benefit from it somehow.
I still think the C_5050 is a good camera, so don't fret too much. Just difficult to get much control over. I'm selling mine (hopefully) for $500 but that includes 160megs memory, Telephoto lens, London Fog Bag and all the extras that came with it.

Yeah, I didn't have any noise problem with mine either. The only time I had a noise problem was when it was really dark and In that situation I think most cameras will have that problem.

Okay! I feel so wretched that I am thinking about getting another camera now. The seeds of discontent have been planted & I must find some way to appease it.

So, I just did a quick search & compare between the 10D & the 300D. They seem to have the exact same specs. What gives? Why lean towards one rather than the other?

This is my first photo with the Canon.

What gives? Why lean towards one rather than the other?

Price!!! for me. Search the forums, there are a ton of threads doing comparisons.

WOW! That looks really great. Yes, there is a price difference but I don't get why. I'll look into the the other threads. Thanks for the heads up!
