Take a photo of something chaotic or disorganized.

Take a photo showing everything in its right place. (With apologies to Radiohead)

Am I the only one that thinks this would make an awesome pair of exclusive challenges?

I won't have to go far to find chaos.

it's a good one, I support it. It would be interesting to see the difference in scores in these two concurrent challenges. Most people naturally tend to reward order and penalize chaos

perhaps I should add that both of these topics are dear to my physicist's heart since I've worked on both these subjects a lot over the years. Heck, I even have a paper titled "Obtaining order in the world of chaos" :)

Spiff, I've heard of these new-fangled gadgets called "Zippie Ties" or some such nonsense. From what Bill at the General Store was telling me, they're great for general work around the house...and even your car; I reckon they might help ya' out here too. :-)

Very cool! I've long been fascinated by the relationship between order and chaos--fractals are an obvious example of the interplay. I've also been intrigued to read about tests showing how the introduction of random noise to a signal can actually boost its strength over long distances, and how the randomness of vibrations can improve the accuracy of instruments like airplane altimeters and speedometers.

Lev, is there an abstract of that paper that might be readable to the non-physicist?
