Quick question -- For basic editing are the multiply and screen layers illegal?

Yes. Under the basic editing rules, ALL layer effects are illegal. The ONLY type of layer that may be used are adjustment layers (that is, brightness/contrast, levels, etc.) So any type of layer with image data on it is strictly against the rules. |

Is using Neat Image out as well?

The question relates to blending modes, which can be equally applied to normal layers as well as adjustment layers.
Edit: never mind, I read the rules - only the normal blending mode is allowed.
How about interior and master opacity adjustment ?
