nope.
0 out of 13 so far.
At the moment my goal is just to get at least one into member screening so i can get a comment or two! (of course, any thoughts and critique from DPCers is always more than welcome!)

That one's nice, but ultimately lacks story. Tell me something, hopefully about yourself. Also, I sense that your editing reflects what you expect they'll like over there. If that''s the case, it's not a good approach.

Yes, i think i'm starting to see that. I think thats definitely something i need to consider/explore/ attempt to understand- the emotional story behind the image. Thanks Louis- much to think about there.

Nah, i'm not in any way editing or shooting to submit to 1x, more the case that if i come up with anything i think suitable i'll submit as an afterthought. I'm pretty sure that my editing would be along these lines even if i'd never heard of 1x. I'm slowly dipping my toe into portraiture and the shallow dof/blurred/b&w/grainy/split tone- is something i'm drawn to anyway. |

The best approach...is No approach, not that Clive-P-N did that but shooting for a site like that because you think certain things will make them happy is a disaster of a concept. |

Louis and Steve - Would you be willing to have a look at some recent portraits i'm quite pleased with? I greatly value your opinions.

I am so surprised. I think I kinda sorta gave up on getting photos accepted on 1x, but I decided to try again the other day. But then, I forgot about it. I figured my photo had quietly slipped yet again into my bulging at the seams "Not Published" gallery, so I went to see if it had any screening notes on it, and lo and behold. . .it had quietly without notice slipped into the "Published" gallery and had tons of comments and favorites. Whoa! What a nice surprise :) I didn't realize they were doing it this way now.
So, here I proudly present my latest "passed muster" photo :)

I just noticed that my reject list only shows the last 10. Has it always been this way? At least this way I don't know for sure how many rejects I have! Makes it hard to keep track, though. |

At the top of your uploads page there's a link to show all your rejects. |

Go Deb Go!
Still the only 2 pictures I have had published were shot within minutes of each other at the same location. I'm a flash-in-the-pan compared to you!

Well, I'll be....
The DPC crowd didn't care all that much for it, though. :-) |

Why is that so important to you Melethia? You're never going to be happy with your images if you think that they need to be liked by DPC voters. Never! |

That's because you have exquisite taste, Mr Bear!
Jac, it would be nice now and then to have universal appeal. Nothing wrong with that. Dammit Jim, I'm not an artist, I'm an engineer with a hobby! :-) |

Even amongst engineers, there are few creations that meet with universal approval...

Is the "Not posted for screening" bit in your uploads folder the "we couldnt even be bothered to put it out to public screening because it sucked so badly"?
If so - so far so good, 4 of 5 have made it all the way to the "Not Published" folder with one victory =) |
