Well it's almost here, the 2.5 hour series finale! I'm excited and a little saddened at the same time. I've been a huge fan for the past 6 years and it's gonna be hard to find another show as deep as this one. I'm anxious for "The End"
Saw this yesterday and this is just great. Unnecessary Censorship |

When they said they'd have a "bitter sweet" ending they really meant it, whew. |

Well my son and I were disappointed; Lost has never been a "sappy" show, and while I understand the sentimentality, I hoped for a more avante garde ending, without all the religious allusions.
We were similarly disappointed in the ending of St. Elsewhere, though for a different reason. If you may recall, in that one, everything was just a dream/imagination.

Well yeah but you have to remember it's on a major network so you rarely see any risk taking.

Yup, i had that same thought. but it's so, so, so... obvious. |
wow we were actually right about something in this crazy twisting show.
i LOVED the ending. perfect in every way. religious overtones but not specific. it wrapped up CHARACTER questions. yes there are still unanswered questions and room for debate, but isn't that perfect?

I am big time happy with the reunion of Claire & Charlie and Sawyer & Juliet. As for the ending - I am not so sure...I am in a limbo state of like and dislike. Although I have to say the ending is still resonating with me even this morning as I think back on it. I have that musical strain of the piano piece Lost Music - Life or Death (about the 43 second line and beyond to give you an idea of what is currently playing in my head). The feel of the last episode ....poignant.
Now I don't know what my husband and I will watch with Lost being finished and Flash Forward having just been canceled.

I think they gave us both a happy ending and a really sad ending. What happenend in "reality" is that 1) Jack died protecting everyone else, 2) Only a few people from the beginning of the series actually survived past Jack dying (Kate, Sawyer, Hurley & Claire/Aaron - I think)... then other characters from later on also did live longer lives (Rose & Bernard, Ben, Miles & Frank, maybe more I can't think of right now). So to me, most of the many characters we met over the last 6 years died.
Yet, most of them came together to say one last goodbye to each other before moving on to... whatever you believe happens after.
Truly, the more I think about this episode the more I love it (and the sadder I am that it's over).

Fringe by jjabrams :) I got the first season on dvd and going to start it this week. a few of my LOST pals have picked it up and rave about it...
i'm finding myself not as sad as i thought i'd be, i was kind of dreading the end, but now that's it's come and gone I feel strangely satisfied...

I'm not entirely bought into the ending. I still have lots of questions floating around in my head, but at least it's over and I can move on.
@FourPoint7: Fringe is AWESOME!
I'm frankly shocked to hear that FlashForward is cancelled! My husband even loves the show, but have to admit that I've been wondering where they could go with it...ugh though, {{shakes head}} why do they always cancel the great shows? |

Yes, I love the show but I think they will only have one or two more episodes. You could read the book Flash Forward by Robert J. Sawyer (what the series is based on). BUT it is vastly different from the show in that for the show it was 6 months into the future but the book was like 20 years into the future...and no big conspirasy . Still very good book and made you think. Still it was a great show, well written and well acted - will miss it very much. Not much good T.V. on anymore.

I watched the first season of Fringe, and just could not get into it. I'm kind of glad the television season is mostly over, because i've found myself watching way too much lately. I used to only watch 2 shows regularly, now i'm up to about 7. |
