Ok so my cell among numerous other things crapped out on the weekend so I broke down and got an iPhone 3Gs, Im not fond of the headphones that come with it and was wondering if anyone had recommendations on a set of in-ear silicone type headphones with the remote & mic on it that are good, other than the other apple ones. I don't need top drawer ones but I want descent sound quality ones as well.
TIA,
-dave

Unfortunately, in the world of audio, that's a paradox. You can't have a set that's great for audio AND great for communications.
I have a bluetooth that I use for talking on (Jawbone), and then I have these for music. When I feel my phone vibrating for an incoming call, I just pop out my right earbud and switch to my bluetooh... It's a bit of a pain, but the sound is definitely worth it!
ETA:
They DO have a set that is built for mobile and music use! Brand new I guess. I would recommend trying out both and seeing for yourself which sounds better.

I have these bluetooht wireless ones that are like 35-50 depending on where you buy them and the sound quality is amazing. They last a long time too.

I did find a wack of them on the apple site that have the volume and mic on them but range anywhere from $50 to I think about $250 :S
for the headset anyway I dont care much ATM about communications, more so want them for music. I dont mind being tethered for that as thats one less thing drawing power as Im sure the bluetooth sucks up battery life much faster than normal like wi-fi does.

Take a look through the listings here. If you want absolutely great sound, try these. These are a little more budget-conscious, a little less accurate with a little heavier bass line. They are also more compact. Both are highly recommended.
ETA, you can get both for less than at the site I linked to... but that site does a great job with reviewing them. I bought mine from Amazon. I have the ER-4Ps and my son has the ER-6is. He uses his with the iPod Touch, and loves them.

That's what I use w/my iPhone & love it! I use Skullcandy earbuds for music & love those, too. The mic on earbuds sucks--noisy. the jawbone rocks.

I've got a pair of Sennheiser bluetooth that looks like that Rocketfish set that Jaime linked to. They are great, work with my iTouch and my blackberry, AND my netbook. |

well the headphones might have to go on the backburner, my daily driver had a nervous breakdown and fear the puter crapped out in it, soooooo not looking forward to this bill :(
Just finished spending $800 on a new exhaust in my Camaro as the old mufflers were damaged after bottoming out and was leaking CO in to the cab. :( and then with the $600 for the new cell... craaaaaap!!
