| I think this should have had expert editing. Mostly pretty awful in my opinion. Some downright gross. LOL I may stop voting, as it's going to bring my average score given to an all time low. :( |

seems like we never have expert editing l8ly unless some famous person dies and its a tribute? |

At least I tried really hard to do a nice photo... but I agree overall I've had a hard time voting on some of those..

Interestingly, it looks like a lot more people are voting than usual ... mine already has more votes than the entry posted Sunday -- though it's difficult to say if that's because of the small number of entries or the subject matter ... |

It's not about puritanism (American/ European or Asian for that matter), I am pretty sure that there exists a marked difference between aesthetic and gross and everyone is capable of appreciating it (The degree may vary though). According to me DPC stands for photographic excellence and challenges are for stimulating the ideas towards a subject. It's not a dumb game where you have to guess the right words by looking gross images. |

Wether it is all very tastefull can be discussed but to call it "gross" or "Very UN-DPC is highly exaggerated i.m.o. It's like in real life - not everybody looks good in their underware... |

Maybe 'gross' is strong word but yes 'tasteless' for sure. Real life is what all the images are all about (except maybe the woody pics) but what I am talking about is something like the difference between porn and artistic nudes- both are real life but when we are on a photography platform- aesthetics has an important role to play |

| I think the low votes are coming from people expecting the bar to be fairly high in this challenge. We don't often get these type of challenges, so when they do come around, i think people expect more. I only gave out 11 scores higher than 7, which I thought was a shame |

Remember that if you think a photo was edited outside of the applicable rule set, you must vote as if the editing is legal and submit a validation request. Do not lower your vote because of any suspected editing violation. |

no worries, I did not, even liked the shot! And with so little subscribtions, I do not think they are keen to DQ another 25%.... |

We want to DQ however many photos are illegally edited. However, if you request a validation there should be a specific reason you suspect it. As a rule there are not that many DQ's for using Advanced editing in a Basic challenge -- most are for other reasons. |
