Why would my Egg entry have over 40,000 views since voting ended five days ago?
I didn't link to it or tell anyone where it was... nuthin'...
Any ideas? |

| Seems to be a trend...over the past few weeks I have noticed several people posting such anomalies as well. Could be someone else has linked your photo somewhere?? 40k seems like the highest I have heard of so far though... |

| Same thing happened to my recent ribbon winner in the Constructed by Man challenge. I have no idea either. |

While a minuscule number in comparison with Lydia's, I was really surprised to find my 98th place finish in the fine arts challenge had over 300 new views by 9am this morning, way more than the others finishing at about that place, suggesting that it was not from people browsing through the results. It is up to 463 new views as I write this and there are no DPC links to it that I know of. Strange, and also suggests that it is not just ribbon winners!

| This usually happens when someone from one of the social networking/linking sites (such as StumbleUpon) sees and links to the image, and then tons of outsiders follow the link to check it out. |

Nah... I recall some images been linked from sites the general mentioned to the point they had to throw up a static page for the image to stop it killing the site on the dynamic page builds... So some of the counts would be false... I recall one with balloons but don't have a link handy that went thru the roof. |
