I'm hoping this can turn into a thread for everyone to post and comment on new uploads and photos that don't fit in to any challenge on DPC.
I know there is another latest upload thread but I'm trying to have the focus on commenting here. How about have everyone who posts a picture comment on the picture before their post?
I've recently started to add old pictures to my portfolio on DPC but I was looking for a way to show people. So I think something like this is the best way to give and receive comments. Hopefully it will also encourage others to become more active who are fairly new.
I'll start it off with this,

Hey I like your idea. Especially about the commenting bit.
Overall I really like your photo. Its nice and sharp and looks great. Is it very interesting? Sorta, but not really. The architecture is not that awe-inspiring.
2 things of note:
1st, I find the lamp post standing infront of the house to be distracting and in the way. I obviously realize you couldn't do anything about it.
2nd, The grass on the ground looks yellowish and radioactive and almost due to some processing. Could be wrong.
Conclusion i think you did a good job capturing this subject given the circumstances. I can only think of a few minor processing tweaks to improve it.

I think this is a good idea - post a pic, leave a comment on the one before yours. I've got nothing to post at the moment, so this is just to bump the thread so others will join in. |

Very dramatic image Steve - great detail front and back. The lighting is a little harsh though and conspires with the composition to offer a disjoint, like it isn't sat on its natural background. Just took a look at your 'in-image' comments and I can see I'm not alone in thinking the mage had that effect. I think it is a great photo but I think your edit could be a little more suited to the subject and backdrop.
Here is my latest upload (if I had know I was about to have done this, I might have uploaded something else!):
