I'm actually quite surprised that mine seems to be struggling in the mid-5's. Popular appeal is a fickle thing.

Foreground or background elements are missing in many, many entries in this challenge IMO. :-/ |
I'm afraid this is true. By my score, there were 12 DNMC's here.. Several really nicely outstanding photos though.
You have rated 126 of 126 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 5.0000. <-- My lowest ever!!! Thanks to the 12 1's, somebody please tell me to stop feeling like a troll!!! :) |

If you firmly believe that a shot is a DNMC, then by all means leave a 1. (you might want to let the photog know though!) That will teach them to not just enter any ol' shot for the heck of it. |

OK, I would have liked higher - when I first processed it I had hopes of a 6+, but on reflection, probably a fair score:

Well this is fun.
Logged in this morning to a decent scored.
Watched it climb by .3 points over the next 2 hours.
Watched it drop by .6 points over the next 3 hours.
Watched it climb back up .3 points over the next 1.5 hours.
Back to where I was when I logged on.
Sheesh

I would never assume that a photographer would enter a challenge with any old shot just for the heck of it. And yes, I think an explanation for a vote of 1 is called for. Think about it this way - Have you ever knowingly submitted something that you thought would deserve a One (or even a Three) Vote? And if someone were to give you such a low vote, would you want to know why? |

If the challenge is Landscape IX and you see a shot of a house-cat sitting in a chair, what would you score it? I'd drop a 1 without hesitation regardless of the lighting, pose, pp'ing, etc. And yes, I have entered shots in the past where I knew it would score very low - the DPC Olympics - just so our team would get a point. I would even make a comment to my teammates saying, "at least we get a point!" |

but at least you would comment - My point is this: If I have a picture in this challenge, or any other, that someone thinks DNMC, I would appreciate a comment/letting me know because I would not have done it on purpose. I would give anyone else here the benefit of that doubt as well.
But you, of course, are free to handle it any way you wish.
Mind you, I'm not telling you how to vote... just asking you to leave a comment if you give a 1 for DNMC.

Every one of my DNMC's now has a written and signed reason to hate me.. |
