...or just have a "submit your originals here" thread?

ETA: Oh yeah, add me to the list :)

If you want some input from a kibbitzer (non-participant) I think you'll have more trouble if you don't draw a line somewhere -- one reason I'm not in this is there's no way I have time to edit 2-3 pictures/day. I'd suggest a limit of 5/week, or maybe 5 each of "good" and "rescue" photos.

When I said 'draw a line', I meant as far as quality is concerned. I don't want to become judge and jury.

As far as quantity, right now it's 21. I toyed around with reducing it to 14. It's hard for me to decide since I'm kind of on the other side of the fence. I appreciate any input.

Also, I kept the original post constantly updated with originals and edits in the hopes to keep it from being confusing. I think everything was pretty user friendly if you kept checking back in with the original post but you are not the first person to find it so, so maybe I need to consider another way.

I haven't found it confusing at all (well, after the first week anyway, LOL!). It's always all right there in the first post. I like having the 21 pictures, because that way I can pick what I want to edit. Sometimes a picture just doesn't fit you. And face it, we're not all great photographers. So learning how to edit a picture to make it into something it wasn't is a good thing. I'm not saying I'd like having to "fix" 21 pictures a week, but I'm also saying sometimes there's a gem in an image that wasn't exposed/composed/thought out/layed out/etc. correctly.

February's originals were great overall! I really enjoy the variety.

By the way, I wasn't planning on submitting photos. I just wanted to see how I worked with the submitted photos compared to the group. Is that OK?

The more the merrier!! You don't have to submit a photo to participate.

cynthiann, I think you did a great job, I didn't find it confusing. 21 is a lot for some people but really you can do as many as you want. If there's one you don't want to try, skip it! It's fun and I've learned to do some things I never had a clue how to do!

I've really been trying to do it but sometimes....I can't remember or I'm just to lazy to type that much! LOL
I agree though, I like reading the post processing steps too. Helps me learn new things.

I think the best thing I can do to get people to post better editing steps is to ask the people who are judging to take it into consideration when choosing the winners. I will reiterate this in the next first post of "PPChallenge Round 1"... which should be within the next half hour or so.
