Just noticed, of the top 20 in Pieces of the Human Form, 11 feature hands as the subject:
2,3,10,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,20...
And the trend seems to continue a ways past top-20... I guess the average voter thinks hands are more piece-like than parts of faces, for example? They certainly beat feet, though of course four feet won outright :-)

And landscapes and critters are the winners in the Free Study this month. :-) |

Just beat me to it Deb - realise I need to get some wildlife or birds in my life if I want to score top 30 in free study! |

Well, yeah, but we already knew that landscapes and critters appeal to people in free studies, we have had that proven time and time again. I just thought it was interesting that hands were so dominant in the top entries in "human form". I haven't done a check to find out what percentage of the *entries* had hands as a subject, however :-) Maybe it's not just half the winners, but also half the entries? I donno...
Like I said, I just thought it was interesting. Certainly any number of them are conscious perpetuations of the classic "cupped hands" theme, which is a proven winner hereabouts, but even beyond that everyone has access to hands, they are inherently interesting, they are infinitely posable, and so forth and so on, so I guess it makes perfect sense :-)

Landscape entries dominate the FS, so can we assume that landscape photographers dominate the voting? And if you subtract landscapes, people, and animals from the FS, not much is left. |

I wanted some feet in mine, but couldn't figure out how to get them up to the window. I needed 1 more baby :) |
