Here's the first of my snow shots......
Took it about a half an hour ago. Just stuck the focus on infinity, guesstimated the shutter for the stupid El Cheapo flash, and went for it. |
we had snow for a short period of time -- but it has been rain, rain and more rain since then. |

It's just getting started here, we've got about 2 inches already and they said it's coming down at a rate of between 1 to 3 inches per hour. |

Kelli, I could ship you my snow blower if you like I haven't used it once so far this season :)
MAX! |

I wish you could, we've been getting hammered this year. I'm not used to this much snow. I can say that 2 feet of snow is heavy and my driveway is huge. They've declared a state of snow emergency, so no street parking allowed.
eta: It took 3 grown men 6 hours to dig out my driveway the last storm.

amazing amount of snow! Even our rain has settled down -- We're just on the edge, so it's possible to get some more, but I'm not convinced. |

We've not had a flake here yet - come on guys, SHARE already !
Though I'm glad that there is no where near that amount here at the moment - Brad and the two big kids are at Beavers (Scouts Canada group for kids 5-7 yrs old) camp this weekend. There is only enough medication and "owen-safe" food there to last until Sunday. Owen has food allergies - he is allergic to eggs, he's also allergic to dairy protein, and that one is anaphylactic (life-threatening).

A little scale......this is the about the wickedest, most powerful snowblower Frontier makes. As you can see, it's about an inch and a half short of the snowfall.
I have to chew a path through the snow, then go back over it to get the driveway clean.
It's *still* snowing, and winds are supposed to start later....

Taken out my bathroom window, LOL! My car was cleaned off about 1am last night to make it easier today.
eta: That's a 6 foot fence in the background.

The nice thing about weather like thatâ€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦It’s over there.;p
Our problem rain, over 3 inches so far this year with 80% chance today 100% tonight (there is never a 100% chance of rain here) average rain for a year 8 inches. My situation, the desert-water friendly yard is now rock and grass, Me thinks spring brings much work. |

Anyone want to guess what the cost is for an office visit at a Pain Management Clinic? I worked at General Motors for 28 yrs. before I retired so I always had very good health insurance. When I moved up here to Northern Michigan in Sept. I had to switch my carrier to BC/BS Traditional Care Network. They pay for most things but I have to pay 100% of the price of any office visit. I have an app. on the 16th at the Pain Management Clinic and I almost had stroke when they told me the price. It's unbelievable!!
Edit to add: Kelly you can't guess, I already told you!

Jeez, guys, that's some serious snow!! Make the kids shovel. If you don't have any hand, rent some! :-) And keep sharing the pictures. I can enjoy it vicariously... without having to drive in it or shovel it! (We are getting rain here on the left coast. Don't have to shovel it but do have to watch for flash floods.) |

When my son gets up and dressed I'm going to make him walk back to that fence to see how high that drift is on him! LOL! I'll be sure to get a picture of that! He was out playing in it, with hubby & a couple of his friends until 2am. He's still out like a light. |

Terry - I'll say $250 for a single office visit... (But I have no point of reference and have yet to figure out what I need to do about healthcare post-military retirement... I should get on that, huh?) |

Thanks. From the looks of things, y'all are my kind of people.
As to the welcome part, maybe I'd better wait for official confirmation from 'The Grand Poo-Bah' first. Better not let my hopes up too high, lest they possibly be crushed by disappointment and rejection.

You learn to develop a thick skin pretty quickly around here or else you will be swarmed by the trolls or have a fire breathing monster toast your tail! |
