This has been a truly rewarding side-challenge. I have learned a lot and enjoyed the work of others who took the same set of beginning steps. We all branched out in our own ways, and the month just got more and more interesting. Thank you Colette for starting this and for keeping it going so beautifully all through the month of January.

Just because the month is over doesn't mean I (or anyone) has to stop! As a side benefit, I tried uploading a bunch of these as Background/Texture images to my Shutterstock account and had several accepted, and one has been downloaded already.

Thanks -- that image is a true fractal generated with Apophysis, not the methods used in this thread. I have a few others in the Portfolio folder where these images are ...

Right behind you jomari! I can't stop, these are so much fun, I still have so much to learn, not the least of which is finding the words to comment with. "D

Another one based on light trails. People say these remind them of fractals, & maybe that's true but fractals are perfect. These have a lovely organic feel to them that perfect fractals don't have. Often computer generated art has a kind of a perfect, un-organic feel to it that I don't much like. These are much more interesting. IMO.

I think it depends on what you do with the fractal-generating software ... I have a few examples I thought had a decent "feel" to them at the beginning of this gallery ... but I agree that this technique produces really cool results!
