I figured since someone here always knows the answer to pretty much everything that I would give this a try:

I'm playing Neverwinter Nights as Ranger class, I am already at Level 11 and have the option of summoning my animal companion, however I don't know if I want to because I've read in a few places that if your familiar dies you permanently lose hits points / experience points and I'd rather not have it if that's the case!

I've been searching the web to try and confirm if this is true or not and I can't find anything that says so, also, I think the rangers animal companion might work different from a familiar anyway.

I know this question really belongs over at NWN forums but you guys know everything so I thought I'd give it a try here first.

So, anyone know what happens when a rangers animal companion dies?

Thanks!

Why not just save the game, check XP and HP, and then suicide the pet? Once you know restore from the save.

And now I'm wondering why I didn't think of that, thanks!

Thanks, that's why I didn't really want to post it in the NWN forums :)
