An incredibly rare sight, the whole of the British mainland white with snow!

Photo from Nasa

That's amazing, wish I was back home in Scotland to enjoy it, make a nice change from the hot overcast weather we've been having in Sydney!

Lovely, although I'm sure it's a pain with the chaos that follows. Pretty sure the roads are still icy etc.

I love The Sun headlines at this time of year;

"Brrrrrrritain Freezes"
"Britain's going snowhere fast"
"Snow news is good news?"

Of course, in the Summer you get "Phew... Britain Swelters" accompanied by photos of girls in the fountain at Trafalgar Square.

Incredibly icy for a couple of days now. My arse is very much on friendly terms with the road now.

Ouch! I know the feeling. Very icy/snowy here and bloomin' cold too.

wow. Airdrie, Alberta is warmer than Airdrie, Scotland right now. (+5 degrees versus -5 degrees). Yesterday however it was about -30 with the wind chill. Lemme know if you guys get that cold then I'll start feeling sorry for you. ;)

Just a few shots of the recent descent of white stuff upon our area in Berkshire.

Taken 06-01-2010 looking out from back door across garden.

These were taken yesterday 07-01-2010 on private land at the back of our estate.

I sent a picture of Nasa image to my parents. They are in South Africa till the end of January, I have a feeling they will extend their holiday! or as long as the cricket plays on lol

That's pretty cool. It looks like Ireland is still green. I guess they escaped the white death.

With temperatures well below freezing, more snow is forecast for east and south east England on Sunday. We are into 1981/82 snowfall, and that lasted until February. The next coldest winter was 1963/64, we were off school for 6 weeks then.
