I am getting clobbered by the Slaughterhouse 5's.
Bah! This just reminds me why I rarely enter a Free Study. With no rallying point theme there are then 400 directions the scores go with the voting public as opposed to 4 main points on the compass.
Why do I enter - well I have had 3 ideas (7 total) that have been sitting on the back burner *waiting* for a challenge that would fit. So there are times I get tired of waiting or just want something to be seen...
Anyway the scores:

It is true that we always have a "bond" with the photograph we enter. Otherwise this would mean we don't stand behind our photograph and if you don't stand behind it, there's no use in entering it.
Or it shows someone beloved, or it it something we did for the first time, - we are simply proud.
And we should be proud because for ourselves we have evolved.
But this does not mean that other people see the image the same way. Other people will see the imperfections we did not see.
And for those imperfections, for those less good things we do NOT yet master, voters give lesser scores. Until next time, until a new skill is in developing.

Thanks for the support and I won't. I just needed to regroup and get back to what I like doing. I love being creative (photography, drawing etc...). I was just having a low moment. This is the first time since I joined in 2006 that I self-DQ'd myself. Things are starting to look up. I will not stop taking photographs. I have a lot family and friends who enjoy what I come up with. I just need to keep evolving. Again, thank you it made me feel better. |
