1. Has anyone had a hard time importing large numbers of shots from this combo?
2. Can some one tell me what the TV mode is about?

I have a 1gb card with my 10d and haven't had any problems.

Most of the time, i keep it at 1 minute. Occasionally i switch it to something higher. Depends on what i'm shooting and if battery conservation is important.

I have never hooked my cam directly to my computer. I use a card reader.

If my 1gb compact flash card is full or if I have over 100+ shots on the card the canon camera window will warn me to download and delete some before attempting to download them all at once.

I try not to use the camera itself to download that many files. Since I bought the Canon i900D printer with built-in card reader I have not used the camera to download any photos.

Usually when I'm shooting I keep the auto time off at 4 mins., If I have it set to 1 minute I usually end up missing to many shots waiting for the camera to wake up. It also works better when I'm shooting in my poor mans studio in the garage.

TV mode is shutter priority.

Ellamay, I use a 1 Gig (Viking brand) and have downloaded about 200 images several times (via card reader) with no problem. And received no particular dialog from the 300D Rebel. The card will, of course, hold more but I like to be on the safe side...
