Rage Against the Machine - Christmas number 1 in the UK.

This is fantastic. Someone has finally toppled the behemoth that is X-Factor and Simon Cowell. Its being heralded as possibly the biggest chart upset in history.

They should have done the Barney song to really throw everyone for a loop.

This is awesome. Not because I think "Killing In The Name Of" is a great Christmas song, but the irony of it is priceless. You topple what's become a "Christmas staple," which had been brought about by someone who owns a music empire and is one of the most popular figures in the business, with a years-old hard rock song. Priceless :)

It is a pretty good song, too...

Who are the sheep? The ones who watch these shows or the ones who got RATM to #1?

I love things like this. Power to the people!

This actually made the news in New Zealand too. I heard it was due to a Facebook campaign

Both. I'm an equal opportunity shepherd.

Now, had something completely independent, and based on the fact that it's a great song and people love it for that alone, and not because it's some part of some media push, won, I'd be overjoyed.
