That's REALLY good photoshop work.

haha! that was my thought -- but only because I could never do that (not in a million years!) I never could figure out how you can get seamless edges.

I went out to shoot rural decay this morning at this place I found about a month ago. I went back a few days ago just to make sure it was still there but was waiting for a nicer day. Today there was a construction crew there and it was already razed to the ground! Aarrghhh!

poor Kelli! Had the same kinda thing happen to me, twice! In both cases they were old rental houses, in different locales by the sides of major roads, so it wasn't like getting to them was difficult. Both had really cool lines to them and I saw them enough driving by thinking Yeah, someday I'll stop and shoot them...

Instead in came the wrecking ball and both houses came down within about 6 moonths of each other. Still kicking myself.

I was very impressed that you included the shadow in the first place! I'd never have thought to do that.

I've got a similar problem......I seem to be accumulating more and more for Rural.

At least I'll have a load of outtakes!

Ditto. Just shot a couple more places. Lots of great old structures around, either just adandoned but full of junk or truly falling in on themselves. Choosing is going to be very difficult!

Not for me. I got a shot that is *the one*, it just shrieks to me "Use me! Use me!", so I have entered it. I doubt it will score very well, but the voice in my head could not be ignored.

Yep, definitely useful when one shot just keeps cropping up in your mind as THE one to use.

For those stuck with a ton of choices, this *highly scientific* method seems to work. After pping the finalists from each shot, put them all up on the screen at the same size, percentage-wise. Then go do other things, glancing at the screen every so often.

Usually one pic will just keep jumping out all but waving its arms in the air and yelling 'Choose me! Choose me!' It's the pic that you never get tired of looking at, the pic that you see more in each time you see it. Even if you shuffle the pics around on the screen, it still grabs your eye and you always see it first.

That's how I chose Chassis for Painting with Light, and that was the first pic to ever break 6, so I think this method is proven to work :-)

Posthumous told me to post who I am and why I suck in here and then I'm a part of Team Suck.

I am Andrew Senay, most people just call me Senay (rhymes with penne). I'm a 20 year old university student who loves photography, horror movies, heavy metal and pre WWII jazz. I suck because I haven't taken as much time as I should to learn how to use my camera and photoshop better. Also I suck because I'm a huge procrastinator, I have two exams this weekend so I might not be on so much till Sunday. After that though I promise to upload some other pictures and maybe just maybe a picture of me from highschool when I used to have an enormous afro hehe. Oh and right now I have back to back 4.6 scoring challenges!

I signed up for the Free Study Marathon and I'm looking to start entering a lot more challenges and also to start commenting more.

Ramble over.
