okay folks, look out... I'm back in all my great mediocrity, so for those of you looking to finish in the middle of the pack, you now have more competition...LOL... I have been in school for the past four months (Finally graduated!!!), and I haven't been able to really participate in this site... i.e. Challenges and forums... I just finished voting on all three current challenges, and I must say, I really like the upgrade on the home page that shows you which challenges you've voted on by highlighting it in green... Very Cool... If the weather clears up I'm hoping to shoehorn an entry into rural decay, Anyway, just wanted to say its good to be back and I've missed this place and my hobby...

Sorry to tell you, but you'll have some heavy competition in that area as well. I just bought 20 shoehorns on EBay. Welcome back, and congrats on graduating. What are you qualified to do now?

I have a B.A. in History and Social Sciences, and I minored in Sociology... Not sure exactly what I'm going to do with that, but I may go back for a masters in history and teach... So we'll see, but I really need about 6 months to just chill. I work full time too so its been a crazy year. Anyway, thanks for asking and I look forward to seeing the shoehorn entries, did you ever do anymore G1 entries?

No more with the G1 yet, but doing quite well with the shoehorns. Have a look at the bugs challenge results if you missed my latest example of ridiculous and literal shoehorning. I'm quite pleased with myself on this one.

ehm... sorry for this idiot question, but what you intend to shoehorn? if I translate this word literally I come to the accessory I need to wear shoes! ;-)

is often difficult to understand everything to me...

When an entry does not really fit the topic, but it is forced to fit, (often with the use of a clever title), it is called shoehorning. This is because a shoehorn is a device used to make something fit. As a joke, I have taken to entering photos of real shoehorns. It's a long term gag.

Sometimes the difference between a shoehorned entry and a creative interpretation is a very thin line.
