... then you'll be able to buy the new Canon EOS-1D Mark II, 8 MP camera.

whistles ... well folks, I'd be divorced for sure! LOL

Yeah, but that's just for the body, you should probably budget another $4500 for the L glass to go along with it. Why not a backup body as well while you're at it?

Its getting cheaper all the time...

5 years ago a Kodak/ Canon DCS 560 would get you a 6 Mb file, but the camera cost $30,000 (with an L 24-70 lens)

Canon makes money on the lenses, when you pay same price for the glass as much as 10-20.000 $

Check this F 1.0 50 mm 3.238 $

The 50mm/1.0L has been discontinued, so if you can still find one in stock, you better snap it up quick. Otherwise, you can always save up a little bit more money and get something like the 600mm/4L IS...

For those of us with more modest aspirations ($450) Polaroid has announced a new 4MP P+S camera with the Foveon sensor.

Why everyone is on the subject.......I went to walmart last night had the kids with me so I didnt get all the details on it but on display they had two Canons EOS one had rebel on it and the other some squigly s's on it and both were on sale $298 and $297,,,, so I looked up walmart online and there was nothing of them....also looked on DPReview.com and cant find anything like them. If anyone knows or has a clue to wich cameras they might be, would be helpfull in my search?

Film Rebel

Either Rebel K2, Rebel GII or Rebel Ti

//www.canoneos.com has all the info. I have a Rebel Ti - it is pretty good but suffers from the same restricted control set that the Drebel has.

yeah the film rebels look impressive but they're still just a consumer camera, hence why so cheap.
