that you think can just blow someones mind away. Almost a life changing listening type experience.
I'm going to so with:
Sigur Ros - Hvarf Heima (Soundtrack to the DVD Documentary of the same name)
Definitely something you need to listen to with head phones on, preferrably in a park, or in the dark. Changed my whole outlook on things. No joke. |

I used to love Sigur Ros, and I'd play it non-stop as background noise at home. I introduced my friend to it and later we became roommates. He also played it non-stop, but during all those times when I just wanted silence. Now any Sigur Ros is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Oh, god, the whine, make it stop!!
I don't really have a "life changing" album to add to the list, but the album "Flood" by Jocelyn Pook is my favorite whole album. It's definitely one to really sit down and get absorbed into. I'll probably sound crazy saying this, but after awhile you get a sense that you're accompanying a raven during its flight through an old castle.

Tool
Listening to their music and watching the music videos at the same time is a psychological and emotional rollercoaster...

Ive had similar experience with some epic metal albums...at parts you feel like you should storming a castle to slay the dragon and save the princess, but not on a horse...on a wicked harley. |
