I am currently using a trial version of PS. I am looking into something a little less pricey, ideally free. Does anyone have any experience with the Serif PhotoPlus 5.5. (now offerd as a free download)

Check out fellow DPC'er Gordon
He has several free or cheap editing programs listed in his user profile.

I looked at Gordon's link and I'd already found that sight, I'm looking for some input by anyone who might be using something other than PS, which is a bit pricey.

Of any product related to digital photography, including cameras, flash cards, printers, computers, etc.....in my opinion there is no better value than Photoshop Elements Version 2. It is around $59 and has every feature I could ever need. |

Photoshop Elements 2.0 (what I use) and PaintShop Pro v8 are both excellent and under $100.

Just picked up a new and never registered version of Elements 2.0 on e-bay for $50US. Seems they're bundling them with cameras, scanners, printers and folks are making some money on it. |

Not that too many people care but that would be violation of license probably...
Bundled stuff usually cannot be re-sold

I didn't know that! I registered it without a problem on Adobe's site. How would Adobe know it had been resold? Just checked the label on the CD and it does say not to be sold separately (didn't notice it before)
