I would love to play with some photos involving action figures (construction workers, farmers, etc) as in this sort of thing:

I have looked in numerous toy stores both around Seattle, and now also in Brisbane, Australia.
I can't find the realistic looking ones anywhere, only the cartoonish ones (e.g. by Lego).

Hobby shops that sell model trains only have people on a VERY tiny scale (about 5mm) whereas I'd like to find them somewhere around 10cm/4" tall.

Can anyone help me find some, please?

You might be able to find something in the stupid toys section at stupid.com. I bought the Paparazzi playset from them, which I've used ocassionally. The figures vary in size. These are about the size of green plastic army men.

Not sure if they ship to Australia. You'll have to read the fine print on their site.

Karin,
So sorry you had to move away from Seattle just to buy action figures. We miss you here. Go to Archie Mcphee's web site, they have LOT of unusual stuff.

I got mine at a hobby shop that sells model railroads and stuff, but I guess they're too small for what you want. I think they had taller ones though. Have you tried a craft store like Michael's?

Steve, Frank and Karen, thanks for your replies. I have checked all of those out, but haven't had any luck so far.

Still hoping to hear about other sources. It wouldn't matter if the store or website is in the States, I have friends over there who would help with posting stuff if needed.

I will look for items of this nature and should I manage to find any I will be more than happy to hand deliver them.

Frank and Alan, I just checked out both of those, but they don't fit the "realistic looking" bill.
Mind you, even if they did look a tad more realistic, I"m not sure I'd want to spend $70 for 4 little guys!

I appreciate you trying, though :-)
