If there is no reason/comments listed under the image, then it did not make it to member screening. I find that frustrating, but I understand they screen a lot of images. Too bad the original screener can't use the drop down menus that we see in member screening.

thanks! I now know how much the shots sucked :(

Can we see it?!

My latest rejects...15 thus far.

This one did not make it member screening, although I happen to prefer this image.

Did you enter the second one with or without the border?

Without border.

at least I received comments as to why. Other previous shots were just rejected.

The comments were interesting:

"Comments from members:
absolutely yes!!
Nice one!
Great capture ...very joyful!
I think I would have likesd a person more or less in focus, but this shouts "missing..." and that pleases me also.

Additional feedback: Of those who voted against your image, five indicated that there is a problem with sharpness, one noted disturbing objects as a weakness and one selected composition as a reason for not publishing the image
."

Seeing as how there is no way I can "correct" the "problem with sharpness", I don't see any reason to submit for critique or potentially try it again. Best shot I've had in awhile, though.

Do you mind if I post a critique request here? :) I want to resubmit this reject. I think you will need to log-in for the link to work.

I think Hajeka has a good suggestion. Although I like it as is, maybe blur the partially in focus rider.

I've never intentionally blurred anything in post processing - I think mostly because when I try to do it, it always looks fake. I'll go take a look at your critique request.

well I thought this might get in as a 1x style photo but NO. haha great.

Comment from screener: Your picture has been evaluated both by the site crew and the members. The common decision was to not publish.
Comments from members:

* A great one, with a wonderful light !

Additional feedback: Of those who voted against your image, one indicated that there is a problem with editing, one noted technical quality as a weakness and one selected composition as a reason for not publishing the image.

I hadn't submitted anything in a while so last week I submitted one from my NYC vacation. I was fully expecting to show it here in this thread, surprisingly it was accepted!

it seems perfect for 1x. Dark, mysterious, man with disability, etc.

I put this in last night because it seemed to fit the site...not out of screening yet. We'll see.

They're actually pretty cool about helping out. I resubmitted this after reading the critiques when it was originally rejected. Same setup, different shot, but I was allowed to reupload the new frame and it got accepted.

PS: The one thing I really love about 1x.com is the number of views vs. here. They're in the thousands!

Edit: after a short while, that is.

Curious, how much re-editing are you guys comfortable with just to get approved? Is there a line?
11/09/2009 08:00:10 PM · #1350

these two (which are two of my personal all-time favorites) were rejected last week, and these two

//1x.com/v2/#photos/member/12459/29041/
//1x.com/v2/#photos/member/12459/28969/

(which are only okay in my opinion) got published this week... go figure...
