We use the location listed in your profile to make adjustments to the time based on your time zone. Please make sure your profile lists your actual location, and set your camera to the current local time and you should be fine.

ok thanks.

Would it be advisable then to update the location in the profile when I'm out of my usual time zone, or is it okay if the actual location is entered when submitting the shot?

On that note, any chance I could just set my camera to UTC? I don't travel that often at the moment, but when I do, I usually forget to change the time.

Oh, and why can't SC just run the photo through a server-farm over at NSA to deduce the date/time, based on the position of the stars, the sun and/or the moon? ;)

Yes, it is also important to enter the location where the photo was actually taken, and I suppose the "best" thing would be to have the camera set to the local time where you are actually shooting. But if you don't push the deadlines, it probably won't matter ...

NSA has (rightfully) declined to issue SC appropriate security clearances ... ;-)

Hmmm, hadn't thought of changing the date/time on the camera when travelling... wow.

I hadn't changed the date when the time moved forward in the Spring, so now I'm back to it being the 'proper' time, without even having to do anything.
