Over the last 1-5 days I have submitted multiple tickets asking for a ruling on an entry I plan. No response from you all. I now have NO chance to reshoot. Please, either certify my entry (which I submitted) or tell me it's illegal so I can avoid embarrassing myself with a DQ-able entry.

This is a matter of courtesy, or integrity. Just f'in respond please.

I submitted a ticket the other day for the same kind of request and Langdon replied to it about an hour later. So I know the ticket system is working.

I like to think I'm on D&L's, or at least the SC's, Gold List. You know, the list of folks they pay attention to even if they're about to get laid ... the coitus interuptus list.

But I'm wondering if, in fact, I'm on their chopped liver list! The list they'll get back to in a couple of week when the chopped liver begins to smell like, hmm ..., Sicily.

If I was on SC, after this post, I'd make a point of not finding your ticket(s).

Just sayin'.

I'm pretty sure that the SC doesn't actually HAVE to make a ruling on anyone's pre-challenge entries. That they do is a courtesy and a privilege, not a right. Acting all indignant about not getting a response when what you're really doing is impressing on their volunteer time and energy is quite amazingly conceited, if you ask me.

Next time, keep shooting alternates while waiting for a response or decision, so that you have some back-up in case it doesn't get dealt with or gotten to. That way you have some breathing room and you won't feel like it's SC's fault for your own questions about the rules and/or incapacity to manage your time and resources.

Hiya,

Sorry for the delay in our response on this one. Of the few SC who reviewed your proposed edit, it was split as to whether the "border" was legal or not, so I would highly recommend that if you want to play it safe that you enter an alternate shot/edit.

Regards,
Manic

For whatever it's worth, I believe the border should be legal, however as manic noted there are differing opinions, and I generally do not participate in DP reviews, so relying on my unofficial statement here would be at your own risk.

Really? Good thing you're not part of the SC then because that's a pretty unsympathetic, blase attitude.

Oh that's right, I forgot, this is that new era where you're supposed to respond to things like "just f'in respond" and claiming that not having a chance to re-shoot is because of SC's non-response (when they aren't in any way required TO respond to begin with).

You're right though, it's a good thing I'm not on SC. I don't know that I could handle people that think this kind of bullshit is acceptable :D

Perhaps if he had prefaced everything with "just sayin" that would have made it acceptable to say whatever he wanted

Thanks for the response.

For some reason, I didn't receive the email response. I'll have to check my SPAM folder to see if it got diverted. ... checking ...

Nope, must be something else going on with my email.

Thanks again for the response.

FWIW, the general opinion is that your edit started to function more as a feature of the entry than as a border and probably would have been DQ'd.

I always operate under the premise that if you're not sure it'll fly, have a backup plan.
