very interesting .. i can relate - maybe not not every meal ... but i do work down the road from a couple fast food chains and it's so easy to go through the drive thru for lunch .. instead of making my own and eating better ... thanks for the link

Scariest part is, 40% of McDonalds sales come from the sales of Happy Meals! Considering McDonalds makes billions of dollars a year, think about the number of kids eating their food? And people wonder why child obesity and diabetes is occuring more and more? I haven't eaten at McDonalds for 5 years straight, and never plan to again.

How many of those Happy Meals were bought during the beanie babies days when people bought the meal and the toy and throw the meals away and kept the toy?

Better watch what you say (sarcasm) McD's has suied people in the past for speaking their mind on their food. Happened to a couple in GB and to a woman in S. America.

ya well it comes w/ the territory. after its the american way to prosecute those who try and show truth.
i do belive that if ppl knew exactly how bad fast food was they would make the correct choices themselves.

personally, i started to boycot mcdonalds and the like years ago when i learned they are one of the biggest killers of the brazilian rain forest for cow pastures.

Are there any corporations that are truly mindful and considerate of the environment and the people's that live on those lands?

Not sure about that Lee...I heard of a case where an American company, that will remain nameless, sued a Canadian farmer when it was discovered that their genetically modified seed was growing on his farm. He never purchased their seed, but the wind had carried the pollen from those genetically modified plants over to his farm from the farm next to his. He lost in court.

accually there are, not many but yes. my company is partnered with one of them: //www.workingassets.com/

i think when its known a company or corporation is doing good to the ppl and environment we should do our part to show our graditude by supporting them and showing we apreciate what good they are doing.

This might not be the best example, but Subway at least makes an effort to promote healthy eating. Even working itself into popular diets like Atkins.

Key word being popular! My wife lost 175 pounds in just over a year and she used her own diet plan... It's called 1000 calories a day. I couldn't have done it! I drink that much pop at work or beer after...

accually spanish, subway would like you to believe this is the case. however the quality of the meat subway uses is as bad as it gets and the vegitables are also frozen and low quality. granted, its much better than a big mac, but still part of the fast food market.

I guess slander is still slander whether it be between a celebrity and tabloid, fighting neighbors, or little ole me and a fast food conglomerate. My high school vice principal sued friends whom attended a party at his house after they spread rumors of catching him and another man partaking in sexually explicit behavior [both accused men being separately married with children].

The UK libel case was interesting in that the judge found that much of what they said was true (factual). Even though they lost, it was stilling quite damning for McD's.

What Subway tries to do, is convince you that their food is healthy. With is not intirely the truth.

True! What did Dr Atkins die from? (they have not officially released those findings), but a heart attack is the large speculation. Protein and fat diet for too long cannot be good for you. Well rounded, responsible diet and exercise will be WAY better for you in the long run. Everyone continues with wanting the magic pill (Cortislim) and not have to be responsible...how our society is now...no responsibility for self. Heard the commercial for that one pill? "It's not your fault your fat."
the subway that I frequent has almost all fresh cut veggies (I asked and can see the slicing machine). No processed meat with all the chemicals in it is the optimal, but I still believe much better than other FF places.

Noticed Maccas in the US is phasing out the supersize options. A tacit acknowledgement of the horrible impact their product is having on so many consumers ?
