No. Mine was shot specifically for this challenge, starting with the title and then creating an image to illustrate it. Not that it really matters, as the more pleasing photos always win. I'm holding up ok overnight, however.

I've started voting (11% so far) and I'm having a hard time because there are some killer images but the titles just look like a silly description of the shot and not a movie theme. I'm trying to think broadly, but having a hard time. Also, I don't like the additional text. The directive said use DPC. It didn't say exclusively, but......Is it just me?

I will not be giving lower votes for the freestudy shots with a DPC title, as too many members have taken that approach and I would have an average vote of 3.1 if I called them all DNMC. I will however, be adding pointage for those entries that appear to have a title that sounds like a movie and an appropriate image to illustrate it.

My take on it is it said use DPC IN the title, but did not specify exclusively. However, you need to interpret for yourself what was intended the spirit of the challenge.

The challenge description says: "our film title .. [more] must have the initials "DPC"!"

When you bring "the world wildlife foundation" down to its initials, it's wwf, you don't use articles like "a, an, the" for initials. So I think that's fine. However, if you have a title of "Don't Pull the Cat's Tail", the initials would actually be DPCT, not DPC. That's how I view it. (although I don't mind subtitles after the fact)

Also, this really is supposed to be a movie poster. I'm going to vote as if it's a poster for a movie. They could have come up with a title like "Documentary: Poor Cat", to make it be a movie. (I don't remember if there's a cat photo, I just am using it as an example.) I'm pretty open-minded, so if there's any chance it could possibly sound like a movie -- that's enough. But some people didn't even bother trying.

I will be scoring this the same way... treat each photo on its own merits, and bonus for those who clearly shot it as a movie title.

I will also fully admit that my entry is a shoehorn... I had no intention of entering this at first, and then I found a way to fit a title for a shot I took last week, so I figured I would enter. So, I am pleased with my score, as I would have expected much lower on account of the shoehorn.

whee!!
popped above 6! (actually, just did it a second ago and made the mistake of updating one more time before posting, and it went down. But now it's over again!)

This is particularly exciting because it's a type of photography that I like, but I haven't done much. It would be really cool if it could stay here, but I fully expect it to go back down.

Just finished voting - some very nice and creative work here. I will note that if the image is good but the title is weak, I did provide a penalty. In this challenge, I am going with the thought that the Title is critical to the shot and if you simply put three words together that happened to fit the description, but they don't scream 'movie title' to me, it probably cost you.

Doesn't appear to have hurt much, either.

Someone made a comment that my image doesn't seem like a movie poster and even though it's good and the title fits, they didn't give me a great score. So I guess there are lots of opinions...
