Nature has bestowed a fresh coating (1 foot plus) of snow in my Minnesota neighborhood. At times like this it helps to reflect on the past..... only a short 10 months ago it was a different picture.

My Minnesota neighborhood as well. Although it's kinda nice looking when I know that I don't have to go anywhere. It should all melt in another six months anyway.

The highway photo is taken from an old government site, but I can't find the reference anymore. However, you can find it and others here. Some other NL snow pictures are here.

Melissa, you win the snow game hands down. WOW, that is a lot of snow. My cousin in St. John's has been sending me pictures of the snow in front of her dry cleaning store. It was remarkable until I saw your image.

Here is an image that was taken in Newfoundland and Labrador in 2002. It is a NewTel microwave tower at Monkey Hill. You can make it out if you look hard. The roads were closed and helicopter was the only way into the site, which is why you can see the part of the rotor blade. Stay warm.

I dare say no, but my parents (and a few generations besides) hail from Botwood and I lived there for a year or two when I was younger. My mom now lives in Bay Roberts.

LOL, Morgan, I'd guess the snow was causing just a WEEE bit of attenuation!
