Well, you do realize that the better you are, the less chance you have at scoring well. If your handicap is 75, the best you can get is -5. However, the worst you can get is +15. So you need to continually do well instead of counting on one spectacular hole. It's actually kinda fun that way, my son could clean up on this one!

Only par+3. Not too bad, second round is going for par-1 (I hope). Congrats Joanne, for place 1 after the first round! And for Deb: the 2 lowest scores will be skipped, so you probably end up in the top 3 at the end!

whiterook Cup. Only rule is you can't try to "win" (which of course makes the winner's Cup misnamed. Maybe we should call it the

Oh, I'm not going for high score - if I were to TRY, I'd fail at that, too. But you're on. You're gonna have to really work at making it up to where I started! :-)

And how is it that this young Mr Warmuz gentleman has a handicap 20 some points less than mine when he has tons of bling in his last 15 challenges or so and a higher average? Quite a few folks who have lower (ie higher, were this really golf) handicaps have higher averages than me. I apparently didn't do something right.

Ok, you've got me curious now. I know nothing about fantasy leagues, so that's why I didn't sign up. But since I haven't looked too carefully at the results, I went through and picked based on the criteria I would have used before this started.

So I picked 5:

ecce signum

bear_music

vlado

jcar

bspurgeon

(I haven't figured out yet what the score would have been. I'm going to go do that now. I can just start at the 2nd hole, if you want.) But the question is, people have picked a sub. How do the subs work? Are they only there if someone doesn't enter, or can you sub them out before a challenge?

If it's just too late, period, that's fine too. I just went for people whose handicap is lower than it should be, and who can bring on some major upsets.

ok, without understanding the subs, I'd be at -7

A sub is automatically subbed on if one of the other 4 don't submit one week, or you can make a sub one of the starting 4 provided you've stated that's your intention prior to voting on the challenge has started. Similarly, you can trade photogs, provided this is done prior to the start of voting.

I'm happy to include you, and anyone else that wants to participate... and personally, I have no problem counting week 1.

Hoping to get back under par. :-)
have a possible for this week, with another trip about soon for some last minute inspiration. I figure it is better to enter anything decent then use the mulligans early.
Maybe a side challenge, best overall score without a mulligan? Anyone interested? The only rule is you must enter every week.

For the record, "mulligans" are usable even if you complete all 9 holes: your two worst finishes will be dropped from your score. Or that's what I believe, anyway :-)

No mulligan for me this week, I'll tell ya that. And I believe with all my heart that the one I am entering in the challenge closing tonight will finish above 6. I believe! I believe! (Said Tiger Ward as he watched his ball start to hook out to the left...)

I'm up for that, though I'm confused on why you have to enter every week: without mulligans, any week you don't enter is gonna give you a 0% finish and a cataclysmically low score for that hole. Ain't that punishment enough? Jejejeâ�¢ Either way, count me in...

That is absolutely correct.

I already used a mulligan myself... had nothing for kisses, or Deep DOF... but I am in for straight.
