I entered last nights challenge Missed focus but y entry is not showing up in the challenge. I did a search for the title in the challenge and it's not there. It's like my entry was removed...

Can someone explain this?

I didn't, I am 5000% sure I entered the challenge. I submitted it 2 hours before rollover and even edited the title so I know it was uploaded. The server lost my entry!!! I'm upset about this.

Can you see it listed in green on your profile page?

No!!! It seriously looks like I didn't enter but I swear on my kids, my life, and everything else I stand for I entered this damn challenge.

Any chance you accidentally unsubmited it? Did you click on the "preview your photograph" at any point? It's right beside the "Unsubmit your photograph" link.

I did click the preview link button because I originally uploaded the shot then reedited it. I showed the reedited version to my wife in PS and the original submitted version here on DPC. It was submitted and ready to go. I woke up this morning and clicked update only to find out that it was sucked into a black hole.

Here is my history from last night. I submitted to the challenge then I changed the entry name. After I changed the name I hit the preview entry link and showed it to my wife. After that the window was closed and the entry went missing...

Did you receive the 'We have received your submission' email? I know you only get that on first submission, not anything that you go on to replace but at least it's an indication that you have something in.

I'd have thought existence of such an email would be proof positive of entry... Don't know how an 'unsubmit' might change things though.

Actually that email is set up in your settings and no I didn't get one. I have it set up not to send me emails when I submit to a challenge just because it's just one more email I would have to do something with. I know when I submit and when I don't so to me it seems pointless. BTW this is the first time I've had this happen to me so I have no clue what to think or do. The entry was submitted so I know it was uploaded successfully. I seriously think there was a problem with the server at the same time my entry went in. I know I uploaded an entry and it was in the challenge, now it's not.
I would like to know what happened to my entry from the admin side of things. If they would allow me to put my entry into the challenge that would be great but I won't know until later today when SC gets on line

Apologies - I wrote my posting while you were uploading the screen shot of your browser history, so just missed it before I posted. When I wrote about 'positive proof of entry', I had in mind something you could send to SC rather than to suggest that your actual submission was in some way in doubt.

I recall awhile back VAwendy was seeing the wrong entry after a last minute swapout. I saw the right one. She cleared her browser cache and then she saw the right one. Wondering if you may be having a similar issue?

There might be an issue with uploading edited images on DPC because I tried to upload an edited version of a picture the other night and it didn't work. It should have overwriten the old one but that was not the case. I tried several times too. I sent a ticket in about it. Got an auto reply so I know my ticket it made it to the server. I replied to that 2-3 times asking if they had any info to pass back to me and never heard a word from DPC reguarding the issue. At this point my updated version still wont load on to the site and does not show up on the page. This photo was not a challenge entry just an addition to my portfolio.

That's really odd.

I hope it's found, Joe.

To add to my previous post. I have entered the hug and kiss challenge tonight then re-edited my photo 6 times uploading each time without a problem. last edit shows up. But now I am worried that when rollover happens that it will do the same as yours and either disappear or my original edit will still be on the server which would suck because I had some illegal editing in that one which is the main reason for me going back to redo it 6 more times.

You sure you uploaded it to the right challenge?

If it does disappear then that would tell me there is a bug in the system and I am just the first to see it.

Frisca emailed me and told me she couldn't find the entry either so I don't know what to do. I would really like to enter the challenge. After all I did go out and shoot a shot just for this challenge and the person wants to know how the image is doing. I even paid my model to pose for the shot. UGHHHHHH

We've gotten your ticket and will see if Langdon can look into it (it's beyond SC's capabilities).

As far as the emails, I know it can be a pain, but it is only one, maybe two at most. I know there have been a couple of times that I've viewed my entry, clicked around and then saw an unsubmit email in my box so I was able to get it re-submitted. Likewise, I always look for the email to know that the system "has" the picture. In this case, if you had received the email, and didn't receive an unsubmit one, it would be easier for Langdon to justify "re-entering" the picture.

Based on past precedence, the likelihood of getting it in now, for voting, isn't very high. Sorry. :(
