I had to go and turn on a light in the room where my dog sleeps so she wouldn't see it and the shadows it created. She was barking her head off...that Moon was really bright!

Was really bright here last night too, i wandered into the kitchen and wondered which neighbour still had lights on at midnight & then saw it was the moon. Thought about getting camera but was way too sleepy!

I thought you were talking about the ring around the moon. We've had the ring for the last two nights.

September is known as the moon-viewing month here in Japan (except it's cloudy at the moment and it can barely be seen). ;-Þ

Same here, I saw the light of it coming in through skylight in my bedroom. Amazingly bright but I just was too tired to get up and start shooting.

Yes, it was lovely, with just enough ragged cloud drifting past to make it interesting. It was bright enough to clearly illuminate the 3 deer that were happily munching my front garden. :)

Don't think so. The information on the radio is that this is the "Corn Moon" (what ever that is) not the "Harvest Moon." The Harvest Moon is the next full moon (the moon closest to the equinox). I may be wrong tho. The neat thing about the Harvest Moon is that it comes up as the sun sets so the harvest can continue into the evening with lots of light.

Autumn is my favorite season; anyone notice the lunar halo on some clear nights?
