We WILL have a Utah get together of DPCers on Saturday, Feb. 7 in Vernal, Utah. Some of you Wyoming and Colorado folks can join us, too, if you can get over the mountain.
There are lots of things to see and do there, but at noon (12:00), we'll meet by the vending machines in the Utah State University Center on the west end of town. We're going up the canyon to explore petroglyphs and to see the "Remember the Main" park. It should be fun! Lots of nice, and weird, things to explore in this area (including a large and bizarre antler collection and wooden tipis)! Remember also that Dinosaur National Park is only 20 minutes away from Vernal, too. It's a really unique and interesting park. Give yourself plenty of time to get there. It's about 3 hours from SLC--but the scenery is so stunning, it is difficult to resist stopping a lot to take photos on the way!
Sorry if David Timms already contacted you (or sorry to David if I'm repeating what he has already done--this was his idea!).

Hi David,
Just wanted to introduce myself since I'm new to DPC but I'm in Casper so we're neighbors (of course in the West anybody within about 1,000 miles is a neighbor). Anyway, doubt I'll make it but did want to say "hi."

Hey David, we won't be able to make it in Feb. but we are planning a vacation at the end of August somewhere over there. My hubby is on the phone right now with RCI getting our condo in order. Is there a lot of stuff for kids to do?

My kids enjoyed Dinosaur National Park. They've got a cool visitor's center where you can see the paleontologists dig for bones. I'm not sure there is a LOT for kids to do--unless your kids like photography, seeing stunning scenery, hiking and the like. It's certainly worth the trip to go from Vernal down through Nine Mile Canyon to Price. Nine Mile Canyon has lots of nifty Anasazi stuff: petroglyphs, structures. And the museum in Price is very nice and kid friendly. It just depends on what you like to do, I guess.

Hello UT!
I am going to see if I can get on over there. About 7 hours away (going up through WY and back down). The forecast calls for cold and snow at that time next week. i guess I will wait and see. I been to DNP as a child and want to go again. there is suppose to be some great canyons and hiking.
I sure hope I can get it together to come over. get off work on Fri 0600, and have the boy all day (no sleep), so lots of factors to weigh. But DAMN I want to go there. Especially with snow!
Hope to see you all.
I am jonesin to get down to Bryce, or Canyonlands, or Arches NP with snow also. Definitely going down that way this spring (Grand Gulch, most likely). Maybe can arrange another get together then. Shall see

Just to keep everyone interested informed, some of us may still meet on Saturday, Feb. 8 at noon in Vernal, but most of us will be postponing our get-together until the first weekend in March, when the weather, and our schedules, will cooperate more (we hope!). |

I'm planning on being there in March for sure. We should plan a huge event now so that more hype and people can plan for a photo trip in March out here in Utah. |

My calendar is marked for March 6th. Vernal. Red Rocks. Petroglyphs. Best of all, DPCers! I can hardly wait! |

Cool! That may work much better for me. Like to be able to find a good place to camp out, or hike to and camp out. Better look into it.
SO this weekend is gonna be the 8th at noon at the UT State U Center. I think I may still try to be there. Crossing my fingers.
