When I bumped up the sharpnes and contrast in parameter 1 results are stunning! :-)

No more doubt about the outstanding photo qualities of this camera!

Check these rose photos.

Thats my next big ticket purchase, the pics are awesome!!!

the pics from the 10D/Rebel seem a bit soft out of the camera, however react very well to USM and sharpening techniques.

Do you use these setting all the time or just for close-ups. I am always wary of changing settings, in case you take some nice photos, but have played around with it to much.
I have been using it on the default setting, and am happy with them, however, those Roses!!!....

Fabulous shots. The portraits are all very good as well. Seems to me like you've been pretty busy. Nice work.

I'm also curious about the roses. Are they straight out of the box or were the post processed?

Nice shots; the red in the color rose seems oversaturated on my monitor though.

I don't have a 300D (I have a G2) but you should consider doing your shooting in RAW mode, in which case you can decide on these settings in "postprocessing" mode, including the white balance, which is very handy. I use Breezebrowser for raw conversion, but with an SLR you also have the choice of //www.c1dslr.com/, which a lot of people seem to swear by. You can try Breezebrowser for free, anyway.

WHOA. Super portraits! That rose is gorgeous, too! I don't see it as being oversaturated on my monitor, though. I, too, am curious about any post processing of the rose??

Great work!

I'm crazy jeaous! What was the damage in terms of cost?
01/27/2004 06:16:31 PM · #15
Oversaturated?

I said ,out of camera saturation +2 and you maybe need an NVidia Graphic card and newer monitor :-)

Canon 10D/Rebels seems to be very sensitive to Red color. I think he increased the contrast, and increasing contrast = increasing saturation as well.

These look good on my monitor.
I almost always use the parameter 1 setting.
Great shots.

I just sold some stock options, and I am waiting for the check to come. Then one of these will be mine!

Anybody want to buy a lightly used Contax AX?

I can't wait to get my REBEL!

Very nice pictures by the way!

I JUST GOT MY REBEL LAST NIGHT! I used it for product shots today at work, but won't look at them till later.

QUESTION: what sort of external flash is everyone using? I didn't use the built-in *yuck*..... and what settings work the best for low light situations?

Thanks!!!!!!
