Ahh Bob - did you wave at me as you drove by?? :P We are thinking about taking the kids on Labor Day. Was it crowded? My exit on the turnpike is #81 - remember that next year :D |

Long LONG ago, I went to Cedar Point. At the time, the Gemini was the newest coaster in the US, I think. And the largest all wood structure. I waited in line for the first car. I went on a weekday, when it was drizzly and gray, which meant there weren't as many people as there could be. And I cannot believe the Mean Streak is still running. That thing is beyond freakin' old, and as you say, INCREDIBLY pulverizing on one's person. If I recall, it was on the verge of unsafe when *I* rode it in the dark ages!
Sounds like a lovely, psychotic outing. :-) |

Deb, I think you are thinking of The Blue Streak. That was built in 1964. The mean streak is the same type of coaster but much larger, faster, and rougher. They are both really rough coasters because they ride on wheels and not tubes. If you ever get the chance, you should go again. It's a day well spent.

It wasn't that crowed but the lines were long because the newest ride "The Maverick" was down. That means that all the people that would have been in line for that, were now in lines for the other coasters.
We decided not to take the turnpike. We took highway 2 all the way between Sandusky and Toledo. We went by towns like Freemont, Port Clinton etc. We stopped for gas at a BP station somewhere along that route. We drove by the big Nuclear plant. Someday, I would like to get a picture of that. It was really cool yesterday with all the steam against a really dark sky (storm clouds).

Let me know when you are going to go down 2 again cuz I can point you towards an interesting photo op. There's a State Park along that route and you can go in there, get to the beach and take an interesting scene with the power plant interrupting the natural beauty of the area ;) |

Ah, yes. The Blue Streak. I think you are correct. And who knows - maybe I'll get back there one of these days and we'll have a get-together just to ride roller coasters. THEN break out the cameras. :-) |

Yes, I did order it, and got two for the price of one! I recently did a flower one for another aunt as a gift and used Shutterfly. They offered me a free 8x10 hardcover. The quality of that was excellent. |
Ordered Sunday, printed Monday, shipped Tuesday, arrived today (Wednesday). Excellent quality! I also got some 5x7's today from Adorama printed on the metallic paper, and I'm impressed with them. |

We went before the service and I took that opportunity to do the one thing I regretted not doing when she was born - I got to hold my daughter.

Well my husband is on his way to Sturgis, will be gone till Tuesday. It's nice to have the house to myself. I'm going out early tomorrow to shoot for Circle, I have some ideas will see if I can pull them off. I find it hard to believe that tomorrow is the first of August. This year is flying by. I have been smoke free for 173 days and have saved $778.00 by not smoking. |

After hanging $400 worth of blinds this morning, my wife informed me that project money is depleted (yea). My reprieve is temporary do to governmental stimulus funds arriving in the near future. (booooo).
Tomorrow holds nothing more than visiting Zion NP, now just down the street, and the Museum of Photography that I think is nothing more than a showcase for local photographers, we will see. While there I will be looking for my next 4.xx score in circles or squaresâ€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦NOT, but I will have a snapshot or two to offer.
Oh and Rosemary, soon as the temps drop out of the 100̢۪s, I plan to join the quitters club.. |

LOL! I'll have to get used to that. I refer to myself as a "poser" because when I ride my bike, I have all the "gear" - the outfits, the helmet, the gloves, the special shoes that clip into the pedals, yet I am not really a "cyclist" - I just ride. So I am a "poser" in that respect. |
