Just got one of these on impulse at Best Buy. Its legs cling like a monkey's tail to tree branches, railings, and such. It feels pretty secure once you scrunch it down on whatever it's wrapped around. When you push a button on the camera it takes a while for the motion to damp out, so use the 10 second timer and not the 2.

To bump a 3 year old thread.... I just bought one of these yesterday to hold my 2nd flash unit when I don't have an assistant around. I was shooting a wedding yesterday and actually hung my lil gorilla in a tree. Worked great. Why didn't I get one years ago when I started this silly thread? :P

Main reason I bought one was to hold a flash with also. |

 Because you're silly? ;)

I don't use mine a lot, but when I want it I want it. It's been used mainly for bridge railings and riverbank rocks, and works great :) |

Quigley gave me mine! Great for bug's-eye shots. Haven't yet dared try it on railings etc. |

I got mine cuz they're oh so sexy!

 ...and versatile!

...ok, I admit it, I got mine for a prop. J/K - I have used it normally in many situations also. I believe it was this thread that prompted me to get one. |
